Eddie Murphy Is 'Heck of a Fellow' for Having 10 Kids & Grandchild — He Wants Granddaughter to Call Him 'Papa'

Eddie Murphy has a big family with ten children from five women. As a father, the actor enjoys being with his children but set a rule about joining the entertainment industry before reaching 18. Eddie is also a doting grandfather to a beautiful toddler, Evie.

After his decades-long career in the entertainment industry, Eddie Murphy has proven his skill and talent as a comedic actor. However, beyond acting, Eddie has achieved much more.

Eddie proved that it is possible to have a successful career while being an excellent father to his ten children, six daughters and four sons, from his different relationships.

The "Coming to America" actor first earned the title 'dad' when his then-girlfriend, Paulette McNeely, gave birth to Eric Murphy, their first and only son together.

Although Eddie and McNeely did not wed, the comedian tied the knot with Nicole Mitchell in 1993. The couple welcomed five children throughout their union: Bella, Bria, Mules, Shayne, and Zola. Eddie also had a son, Eric, with his ex–girlfriend, Tamara Hood, and a daughter, Angel, with Spice Girls member Melanie Brown.

Six years after Eddie divorced Mitchell, he began dating his now-fiancee, Paige Butcher. Together they share two kids, Izzy and Max. Some of the comedian's children are adults with a life of their own, including his eldest daughter, Bria, who married actor Michael Xavier in 2022.

Interestingly, Eddie's firstborn, Eric, may be tying the knot soon as well after his girlfriend, Jasmin Lawrence, caught the bride's bouquet during Bria's wedding reception. Eric took to his Instagram a post to celebrate his sister's milestone.

He expressed his happiness for his sister's new life with her husband and their soon-to-be family. He also mentioned his girlfriend for catching the bride's boquet.

While Eddie's eldest kids are focused on building their own families, his youngest just turned four. The wide age gap between Eddie's children can make it difficult for them to be close to each other, but the proud dad couldn't feel any more blessed.

During an interview on Marc Maron's podcast, the box office actor revealed that his children are the center of his world and are always prioritized above his career. According to NDTV, Eddie said:

"I am so blessed with my kids. I don't have one bad seed. I don't have any like, 'Oh, you are the one.' I don't have any of that. My kids are so great, normal people, and nobody is like the Hollywood jerk kid."

Eddie is fortunate to have a child following in his footsteps as well. Previously, he and his daughter, Bella Murphy, shared the screen in "Coming 2 America." The "Coming to America" sequel was Bella's acting debut.

Bella Murphy also landed a part in "Fairyland," the 2022 movie adaptation of "Fairyland: A Memoir of My Father." Eddie's daughter has also appeared on television, starring in an episode of "Dollface."

Evie, who is less than a half year younger than Eddie's youngest son, is being raised to call her grandfather "Papa."

While Eddie is supportive of his daughter's pursuits, he has implemented a rule in their family where no one was allowed to join show business until they turned 18.

Some of Bella's sisters, including Shayne Audra and Zola Ivy, have also pursued a career in entertainment as models. Meanwhile, her older siblings, Eric and Christian, are living away from the spotlight and with as little social media presence as possible.

Besides his children, Eddie is a proud grandfather to his first and only granddaughter, Evie, the daughter of Miles and Carly Fink.

Born Evie Isla Murphy on July 2, 2019, the little girl often appears on her mother's Instagram account, stealing hearts with her adorable photos. Evie's big green eyes have left her grandfather's fans in awe, adding to her surreal beauty at such a young age.

Evie, who is less than a half year younger than Eddie's youngest son, is being raised to call her grandfather "Papa," as he wished. According to the "Haunted Mansion" star, his granddaughter's moniker for him felt right compared to other names.

Now a toddler, Evie is starting to look more like her grandfather. In Fink's November 2022 posts, Evie flaunted her curly light brown hair, gorgeous eyes, and sweet smile while in between her parents. According to Eddie, she is "the most perfect baby."

Nicole Murphy was previously engaged to New York Giants Michael Strahan after he proposed in 2009. While the couple seemed happy together, their relationship did not last.

Fans of the actor also have the same words to describe the toddler. Previously, Fink posted a snap of her daughter in an all-white ensemble, highlighting her eyes and smile.

Praises immediately flooded Fink's comment section, with one fan calling Evie Murphy "the most beautiful girl in the world." Meanwhile, others compared the toddler to a doll because of her flawless skin and sharp features. Evie is undoubtedly going to grow up to be a beautiful person.

Besides Eddie, Evie has another loving grandparent, her grandmother, Nicole Murphy. Nicole, a model and fitness enthusiast, has been separated from Eddie for several years, yet the pair successfully co-parent their children.

Shortly after Evie's birth, her grandmother was spotted hanging out with friends in Los Angeles. Then 51, the socialite looked gorgeous in a maxi dress and oversized hoop earrings.

Nicole Murphy was previously engaged to New York Giants Michael Strahan after he proposed in 2009. While the couple seemed happy together, their relationship did not last.

It seemed that the couple did not trust each other, and at one point, Strahan planted a tracking device on Nicole's car. The pair called off their engagement in 2014 after cheating rumors surfaced in the media.

Nicole's two previous relationships may have failed, but she is blessed to have a strong bond with her children and grandchildren.
