Ruth Clapton – A Glimpse into the Life of Eric Clapton's Eldest Daughter

Ruth Clapton is one of Eric Clapton's five children who is also a singer. On most days, Ruth focuses on her social media content and cares for her two young boys.

Eric was still married when he started seeing Yvonne Kelly, a married woman, in 1984. Their relationship resulted in their first daughter together, Ruth Kelly Clapton, in 1985. Ruth recalled her childhood:

Ruth also maintained a blog where she shared several life experiences, including her big move to York in 2019 with her two children.

According to Ruth, the whole process took her three months – from selling their old home and moving into a new one. The choice of location was contingent on the school Ruth and her husband wanted their children to attend.

Ruth Has Had Two Stepfathers and Her Biological Dad in Her Life

While Ruth's family has a standard set-up, the same was not what she experienced growing up. She grew up with her first stepfather, who genuinely loved her and raised her well.

The feud caused the father and daughter to cut ties, with Ruth going as far as telling people they no longer had a relationship. After six years, however, the father and daughter made amends.

Unfortunately, they seemed to have drifted apart due to Ruth's close relationship with her biological father. "I can accept his absence because he was such a good father figure to me in my early years," she said. "In fairness to him, there has never been any animosity as such, more of drifting apart. "

When Ruth was ten, her mother married another man, her second stepfather. The man was reportedly not good to Ruth and subjected her to verbal abuse, which later reflected in her life. Fortunately, Ruth had a close relationship with her mother.

However, the veteran rocker did not like his life being shared online and was furious at his daughter for doing so. The feud caused the father and daughter to cut ties, with Ruth going as far as telling people they no longer had a relationship. After six years, however, the father and daughter made amends.

Ruth is not Eric Clapton's only child. He also has four other children, one of whom died in a tragic accident. Conor Clapton, born on August 21, 1986, was only four years old when he fell through an open bedroom window of a 53-floor apartment building in Manhattan.
