José Andrés' wife, Patricia Andres, has been his most significant support system throughout his career as a restauranteur. She also stands by him as he continues his humanitarian work across the globe.

Known for his work in the culinary world, José Andrés built his career in the kitchen as a chef. He is also a restauranteur, owning the famous Jaleo restaurant, which brought a variety of Spanish cuisine to Washington, D.C.

Behind the scenes, José is a humble and generous person with a loving wife, Patricia Andrés, supporting all of his pursuits, including his humanitarian work.

José channeled his expertise to help others in 2010 when he founded the World Central Kitchen, a non-profit organization that brings aid to disaster-stricken areas through food.

Like him, Patricia is a Spanish native. However, she only met her husband in the United States when they were both residing there. Patricia moved to the US as her uncle worked for the Spanish Embassy.

While her initial plan was to study English for six months, Patricia eventually lived in the country and attended Montgomery College and the University of Maryland.

José Andrés Met His Wife, Patricia Andrés, in the Line at His Friend's Restaurant

Patricia first met Jose at Cafe Atlantico, a restaurant owned by her spouse's business partner and friend, Roberto Alvarez. It was where Patricia and her friends would meet up and, coincidentally, the restaurant Jose would go to after work. She narrated:

"I was waiting in line with a friend because there were always long lines to get into Cafe Atlantico, and Jose came with a friend, and he was like, 'Do you want to come in?' We said, 'Sure.'"

According to the restaurant owner, Patricia had been in his line of sight several times previously when she would dance out with friends.

After dating for a year and a half, Patricia married the love of her life. They had a civil wedding in the US before having an intimate religious wedding in Spain. Sadly, Patricia's father was absent during their special day as he passed away a year before.

Jose once teased that he married Patricia because of her fantastic gazpacho dish. However, he seems in love with her for many reasons, including her kind heart.

José Andrés Says His Wife, Patricia Andrés, Was Sent to Him by God

In a previous interview, Jose called Patricia a gift from God and his anchor amidst a chaotic world. Not only are their values aligned, but they also have a shared passion for helping other people.

Patricia has praised her husband the same way. "He has a great team at World Central Kitchen, but what is great is that Jose has the leadership to move a lot of people," she said.

José Andrés and His Wife, Patricia Andrés, Have Three Daughters Who Inherited Their Father's Love for Food

Patricia shares three grown daughters with her husband—Carlota, Ines, and Lucia—who all attended The Woods Academy in Bethesda. Her eldest child, Carlota, later graduated from New York University.

All three of her daughters also enjoy traditional food the same way their father does. However, Jose hopes his children inherit his attitude and ability to translate real-life experiences into on-screen moments for others to see. Admittedly, Jose tried to emulate his mentor and friend, Anthony Bourdain, and hoped his three girls do the same.

Anthony was a celebrity chef, author, and television personality. Like Jose, he was also a father to one daughter, his only child, Ariane Bourdain. Born in 2007, Ariane was still young when her father took his own life.

While her memories with her dad are limited, Anthony had nothing but nice words to say about fatherhood. He undoubtedly loved his daughter unconditionally.
