Elvis Presley had a twin brother whom he was named in his honor. Elvis was very emotional when he became a father to his only child, daughter Lisa, and nowadays, she is a mother of four, including twin daughters. One of the twins is named after their late grandfather and great-grandmother and looks like Elvis.

Vernon Presley met his future wife, Gladys Love, at a Tupelo, Mississippi, Pentecostal church in 1933. She was 22, working as a sewing machine operator in a clothing factory, and he was 17 doing odd jobs during the Great Depression.

Money never came easily for the couple, and after marrying, they moved to a two-room shack with no running water or electricity. Gladys became pregnant with twins, but she and her husband couldn't afford medical check-ups.

The couple, who had the twin gene running in their families, only got medical assistance when there were complications. On January 8, 1935, they experienced birth complications and called a doctor whose charity covered the fee.

The doctor sadly couldn't save one twin, Jesse, who was stillborn and buried at a local cemetery. Gladys, who lost too much blood, was taken with the other twin, Elvis, to the hospital, and she was scared of losing him.

Elvis's middle name, Aron, was given to him in tribute to his late twin brother, but he later changed it to Aaron. While the future star was close to both parents, he was more bonded to his mother and got to know the joy of being a parent too.

Elvis Got Emotional after Becoming a Father to His Only Child

In 1959, Elvis served in Germany for the army when he first met a 14-year-old Priscilla. While he was famous by then and had many female fans, Priscilla was the one who caught his eye.

Each time the pair spent a night together, Elvis opened up more to Priscilla about his secrets, doubts, and frustrations. The young girl struggled to understand his adult issues but tried her best.

She heard him talk about wanting to become a great actor like his idols which included Marlon Brando. When Elvis had to return home, he and Priscilla had already solidified their bond and continued corresponding.

In 1963, she moved to be with him in America, and the pair married on May 1, 1967, in Las Vegas. On February 1, 1968, the couple welcomed their only child, a baby girl named Lisa Marie Presley.

Priscilla recalled the birth saying she woke up at eight only to realize her labor had started. She gently woke up the King of Rock 'n' Roll and told him the big day was here, and their child arrived at 5:01 p.m.

Elvis kissed his wife and was thrilled that their child was healthy and normal. He was in love with his daughter from the get-go and couldn't believe he had been a part of making the "beautiful child."

Seeing Elvis as a father was the man Priscilla loved and would always love. She recalled how he didn't try to be sexy, strong, or decisive and wasn't afraid to show vulnerability and warmth.

With his wife, he never acted the part of the superstar and thought the little girl in was just her husband and a man. The twin gene that Elvis inherited from his parents continued after he passed away.

Elvis' Twin Granddaughters

In October 2012, Lisa revealed that her focus was on Elvis' spirit living in his grandchildren, whom he had never met because he died before they were born. When asked how she'd describe that spirit, she said it was "just 'him'" and that all her children had a little bit of their grandfather in them.

Lisa, a mother of three, having lost one son, also noted that the children had their traits, and she could sense they had a little of their grandfather. Elvis' daughter described herself as "ferociously protective" of her children.

She confessed to smothering her brood with love because they were her priority and what she cared about the most. Lisa said she kept them close and ensured they were healthy and happy.

She had her late son, Benjamin, and daughter Riley with her ex-husband Danny Keough. With her other ex-husband, Michael Lockwood, they welcomed twins Finley Aaron Love and Harper Vivienne Anne on October 7, 2008, with Priscilla present for the births.

Finley's second name was given after Elvis, and his late twin, while this third one was to honor the singer's mother, Gladys. The children's grandmother, who was "thrilled" to encompass the role again, saw the duo take their first breaths.
