After 15 years of being in each other's orbit, Tanja and Jack started dating in 2005 when they reconnected at the surprise birthday party of a mutual friend where the comedian's band performed.

People broke the news that the pair eloped on March 14, 2006, in Big Sur, California. Her bassist father, Charlie, told the publication that the family was "thrilled." However, even with the glowing endorsement from Tanja's family, Jack said in 2018:

"Even though I was already married to Tanya, and we had kids, when I was invited to be on the Haden family album, I finally felt like I was truly part of the family. I've always loved Tanya's family. The whole family has always been kind of a magical source of mystery."

Tanya Haden & Husband Were Each Other's "Groupies" and Performed Together

Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper's chemistry during an intimate performance of "Shallow" from their film "A Star is Born" at the 2019 Academy Awards sparked romance rumors.

Despite being an actual romantic pair, Tanya and Jack's rendition of the song provoked a very different reaction – laughter. In a clip shared on the Tenacious D YouTube channel in July 2019, the duo performed what looked like an impromptu rendition of the hit soundtrack.

Haden pulled her face as her partner launched into the song before looking over at him for cues and joining in, and the pair mostly mumbled incoherently to hilarious effect in the clip.

Other creative collaborations with her husband range from providing vocals in his conman caper "Bernie" and voicing the character of Smitten Bunny in the Dreamworks animation "Kung Fu Panda," which he stars with Angelina Jolie and Ian McShane.

When they were working on her father's 2008 family album "Rambling Boy," Charlie wanted to show his son-in-law how "especially beautiful" his daughter, who does not think she is a good singer, performs "He's Gone Away."
