Marie Osmond and her ex-husband, Biran Blosil, are parents to Stephen, 39, in January 2023; Rachael, 31; Jessica, 35; Brandon, 26; Brianna, 24; Matthew, 23; and Abigail, 18. The "Paper Roses" singer was also a proud grandmother of eight in 2023.

On January 10, 2023, the songstress revealed that she hadn't budged on her plans not to leave her children an inheritance. During the interview, Marie explained that she wanted to enable her children to try and be something on their own.

The then 63-year-old explained her choice, saying she didn't know anyone who became anything significant when handed money. The singer felt the "greatest gift" she could give her children was the passion for searching for who they were inside and for working.

Marie gave an example of herself, saying she'd done many things, including designing dolls. She said she loved trying and wanted to try everything before describing herself as a "finisher," adding:

“That’s one of my rules with my kids. If you start it, you finish it; you don’t ever have to do it again, but you gotta finish."

The star believed an inheritance just bred entitlement and laziness. The musician had worked hard to have the wealth she had and said she would spend all her funds having fun with her current husband, whom she remarried in 2011, Steve Craig, once noting:

“I think you do a great disservice to your children to just hand them a fortune because you take away the one most important gift you can give your children, and that’s the ability to work.”

Marie added during an episode of "The Talk" that many rich families had children who didn't know what to do with their lives, so they got in trouble. The plans she had for her fortune only included her husband.

What Will Marie Do With Her Fortune?

Marie, a mother to eight children, has been vocal about not leaving her offspring any monies for some time. In March 2020, she announced again while on "The Talk," joking, "congratulations, kids."

The star revealed that the decision was one she made with her husband as they'd both felt it wouldn't serve their children well to hand them money. However, the show's co-host, Sheryl Underwood, admitted that she would've loved to have someone leave her money to have a "leg up" in life.

Underwood said she felt when wealthy people said they were leaving their children inheritances; it didn't make sense as those children had been living a great life all along. Marie explained that her choice came from her wish to avoid the children "fighting over semantics."

The songstress shared how her aunt's family fought over a table and a mirror when she and her husband passed on. Marie recalled how her mother had vowed that would never happen again; however, she still loved her brood very much.

Marie Adores Her Children and Is a "Fun Grandma"

Marie shared how she felt it was the best time for women. Now that she was a grandmother, she only wanted to spoil her grandchildren and acknowledged that she didn't have to raise them.

Steve's wife said she felt she had the best life. The singer also described herself as a "fun grandma" and shared that when she uploaded a photo of a quilt she made, a fan was in awe of something unique about the image.

The follower complained that they couldn't sit on the floor the way Marie was in the picture, but the musician encouraged her that she could and not to give up! The star recalled a time when she had all types of excuses.

The former talk show host would complain about having bigger bones or a different body, but now knew her real body was "in there." She urged people to learn to love their bodies again and to take care of themselves because it was doable.

Marie [Osmond] said the children would want to go to miniature golf.

Marie said she wanted to motivate just one person to find health. The singer believed it was worth it to work with Nutrisystem to encourage healthier living because it was a "game-changer."

"The Donnie and Marie Show" star, who went by the nickname "GlamMa," always marveled at her grandchildren. She was always the first one to share memorable family moments on social media, whether it was a birthday or to boast about their achievements.

Marie even witnessed her eldest grandchildren, Rocket Jade, Stephen, and Christian's first years in kindergarten. She enjoyed seeing them begin their lives and achieve things and said she loved them very much!

Besides the trio, Steve's wife also spent time with her other grandchildren: Maxwell, Wolf, and Maude, when she wasn't traveling across the country for her busy work. Marie said the children would want to go to miniature golf.

Sometimes her granddaughter just wanted to color in, or the grandchildren would create fake food in their kitchen, and they'd "eat" it together. The star said she'd do "anything" her grandchildren wanted to do, no matter what.
