Candace Cameron Bure, best known for portraying D.J. Tanner on "Full House" and its sequels, recently celebrated her youngest son's 21st birthday. The proud mother of three celebrated Maksim Valerievich Bure's birthday with the rest of her family, including her husband, Valeri Bure, and her other children, Natasha Bure and Lev Valerievich Bure.
To mark the occasion, Candace took to Instagram, where she posted three photos. In the first, Maksim can be seen smiling broadly at the camera while his mom has her arms wrapped around his shoulders in a loving embrace.
The second photo showed a delicious chocolate cake with sprinkles and "Happy birthday Maks!" scrawled on top in white frosting. The last image showed Maksim holding his mom's hand across his chest while she planted a peck on her son's cheek. Candace captioned the post with an endearing message:
"My BABY, the youngest of my three children, turned 21 today🥳!!! Happy Birthday @maksim.bure I love you so much. Keep bringing that smile and joy with you everywhere you go 🎈🎉❤️."
Candace's followers and close personal friends responded positively to the post and wished Maksim a lovely birthday. Many fans also noted how similar Candace and Maksim looked, with one saying, "Happy birthday! Also, he legit stole your face! Lol."
The milestone comes less than a year after another memorable event in the young man's life. In May 2021, Maksim graduated from Northstar Christian Academy, a private school with an excellent reputation for its ice hockey.
Candace clearly enjoys sharing her personal life with her fans, since she marks many events with social media posts. Unfortunately, not all who comment on her pictures respond positively, and she has criticized her dissenters publicly for their rude feedback on her Instagram profile.
In response to Instagram users who critiqued Candace's photos of her family, the actress said the feedback was unwanted and that she merely meant to share a family photo. The actress commented that she's "not posting for your negativity."
Although she's aware that people often respond negatively to other peoples' posts, Candace said she despises it when followers turn on her family. Having lived life as a reasonably famous figure, Candace is used to the spotlight, but if her family gets involved, she expects people to be civil.
"We Are a Very Close Family": Candace Cameron Bure about Her Family
Although all three of Candace and Valeri's children have left home, the family still spends tons of time together. When the kids were still living with their parents, Candace opened up about being a mom. She admitted spending time with her kids is one of her favorite pastimes.
The actress mentioned that she ensured the family had as much time together as possible before everyone started going their own ways and moving out of the house. She noted, "We are a very close family, and no matter what's on the schedule, we all stick together."
Candace is excited to be a "hot grandma," and it seems her days of looking after grandkids may not be far off.
Besides being a devoted mom, Candace is also a loving husband. The actress has been married to Valeri for an impressive 27 years, and the couple is still going strong. Although maintaining a marriage for almost three decades can undoubtedly be challenging at times, Candace shared that they made it work by respecting each other:
"I always say, put your spouse on a pedestal. And in return, you're hoping, which my husband does, we have the same respect for one another other … and some days neither of us deserve it, but we do it because we honor one another and respect each other."
Candace confessed that married life has its ups and downs, but she believes that working through the rough patches is an imperative exercise in a lasting relationship. The actress also suggested that couples should have common ground they could refer to whenever their conflict seems too complex to solve.
When it comes to being a mom, on the other hand, Candace gushed that her approach to parenting is based on involvement. In the Bure household, opening up to family members is always a good thing. Candace always listens to her children, giving advice wherever she can.
Candace Cameron Bure Is Ready to Be a Grandma
Although Candace had to disguise a few tears when her kids left home, she's a highly supportive mother who wants her kids to have their own rich lives. Moreover, Candace is looking forward to being a grandma. The actress expressed her hopes of having a large extended family, saying:
"We will love them unconditionally. We will want to be a part of [their] lives, want to be a part of the grandkids' lives. I don't want to do anything to rock the boat. I just want to be there to support."
Candace is excited to be a "hot grandma," and it seems her days of looking after grandkids may not be far off. In 2020, her middle child, Lev, proposed to his girlfriend, Taylor Hutchison. After Lev got down on one knee and he and his new fiancée had a photoshoot, Candace announced the engagement on her Instagram.
The Hallmark actress spoke candidly about her growing family, saying she hoped to be the best new mother-in-law. She showed her enthusiasm for the young couple's marriage by writing, "And this mama/mama-in-love can't wait for wedding planning shenanigans!"
Candace and Valeri are proud to say they have been with Lev every step of the way. Leading up to the engagement, the parents didn't shy away from helping out. They also shared as much wisdom as possible, hoping their advice would make the process straightforward and exciting. Candace commented:
"It's always a journey. I think that's what we will tell him. And obviously communication is key."
Although the family still has a lot to do to prepare for the wedding, Candace is ready to look after her grandkids. She laughed that she couldn't wait to be a grandma, saying she adores children. However, the "Aurora Teagarden Mysteries" actress added that she's trying not to get in her son and his fiancée's way.
