Keanu Reeves’ $8.07M LA Home That Ended His 'Gypsy Life' & Where He Feels 'Safe' despite Spooky Fans
Keanu Reeves enjoyed living in hotels and rental homes for most of his life, but when he decided to settle permanently, he bought a $4.85 million home in Hollywood Hills. The actor loves his house, but fans and tourists lining up outside his gate spook him.
Keanu Reeves grew up in Toronto, Canada, but his impressive acting skills quickly gained international recognition. He first grabbed the audience's attention in "River's Edge," but his part in the comedy "Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure" and its sequel "Bill and Ted's Bogus Journey" gave his career the kickstart it needed.
Soon he starred in some of the hottest blockbuster films, like "Speed," "The Matrix" and "John Wick." The "John Wick" trilogy made Reeves an action legend, but his versatility translates in other movies like the romantic comedy, "Always Be My Maybe," and "Something's Gotta Give."

Reeves' films have broken several box office records, and while his fellow actors and fans would love to know more about him, he likes to keep his life as private as possible.
Keanu Reeves $8.07 Million Home
Reeves has openly talked about never wanting to commit to buying a house after being accustomed to living in rental homes. He said, "There were many years where I led a bit of gypsy life. I worked and then came back to Los Angeles. I rented houses. After a while, I felt like I wanted to have a home."

The actor eventually craved stability and purchased his first home for $4.85 million in the Hollywood Hills area in 2003. Reeves admitted that he enjoyed house hunting and experiencing the surreal feeling of finally finding his home. It's like "When you walk into a place, and you go 'this is it, this is it," he described it.
The "John Wick" star loves his house, "It gives you something, you know, it's a safe place, a place to rest, a place to think, to entertain. It's great to have it," he expressed.
His 5,607 square-foot home sits on 41 acres of land. Since he purchased the house, it has appreciated to an impressive $8.07 million, which is a good and fast-growing return on his investment.

The single-home mansion is a 1988 build with two bedrooms, three baths, a three-car garage, a pool, and a courtyard. Since Reeves keeps his life on the low, there is not much about the interior of his house.
The actor does have a range of famous neighbors, including Leonardo DiCaprio, Ariana Grande, and renowned chef, Bobby Flay. Down the block are three of Kelvin Clein's houses.

Reeves is one of Hollywood's most humble and admirable men. He is not only nice to his fans but his friends too, and one person that attests to his generosity is his long-time co-star and friend Sandra Bullock.
Keanu Reeves and Sandra Bullock's Friendship
Bullock and Revees' friendship goes a long way; the two worked together on "Speed" and have been close for many years now.
While giving a red carpet interview, "The Lost City" star shared that she used to clean Reeves' house every Thursday because of a bet she lost while they were filming "Speed."

According to Bullock, she did a good job cleaning up the house. Even though she had to stay out of certain rooms, she respected her friend's privacy.
It turns out Reeves is not only scarce for the paparazzi but for his fellow co-star too. Bullock revealed if she's not cleaning his house, she probably gets to see him twice a year.
After Reeves and Bullock did "Speed," they hung out a few times, and the actress recalled one of those instances. She remembered them talking about how she never had tasted champagne and truffles, shocking Reeves.

A few days later, while Bullock was painting her nails with a friend in her living room, she heard the actor's motorbike outside.
He rang the doorbell, and when Bullock opened the door, she found him holding flowers, champagne, and truffles. They sat, Bullock popped the bottle of champagne, and just like clockwork, Reeves put out his hands and got his nails painted.
Some Keanu Reeves Fans Go to Extremes to Meet Him
Some of Reeves' fans can go to great lengths to get a look into his life, so much so that the actor might need even tighter security.
In 2014, the actor's house was reported to have been invaded twice in three days. The Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) responded to a burglary call at Reeves's home at 5:00 a.m.

Fortunately, nothing was taken from his home, but the police reported that they detained a woman in her 40s who was eventually taken in for a medical evaluation. Reeves was in the house when this happened.
Three days later, another woman broke into his home after the gates were left open due to construction. LAPD responded to the call at around 10:00 a.m. and found the woman comfortably taking a dip in Reeves' pool. It was unknown if the actor was home when the incident occurred.

In 2015, Reeves had another frightening incident where a fan of his showed up at his address. He might love his house for its safety, but some fans are not afraid to go the extra mile.
Another part of Hollywood life that Reeves does not particularly like is the number of vans with tourists that line up outside celebrities' homes. Sometimes he would come out to get his newspaper in the morning and hear, "There's one!" which made him feel like a caged animal.
But he also understands that it comes with the Hollywood territory. Nonetheless, Reeves said he is not bothered much when walking around L.A. because most people do not care.

Though Reeves values his privacy, he is still one of the friendliest celebrities. In fact, he helped passengers during an emergency landing, and one of the people on the plane was freelance cartoonist Brian Rea who shared the story on his Instagram.
Rea noticed Reeves; they talked about his upcoming projects and took pictures with two other flight attendants. They embarked on the plane, and Reeves sat two seats behind him. Rea fell asleep and was awakened by the chaos from the announcement of an emergency landing and the possibility of taking a bus.

Rea recalled Reeves speaking to the passengers, asking them where they were going and how they were, and even giving them advice on how to reach their destinations faster. Even though Reeves likes his privacy, his presence has left a mark on many of his fans' lives.
