Lincoln Riley's Wife Caitlin Buckley Surprised Him on His 40th Birthday

Lincoln Riley's wife, Caitlyn Buckley, made his birthday special this year as they often have to mark the occasion by having low-key celebrations because of his work. Despite this, the pair spend time with friends and family.

Caitlin and Lincoln have an incredible love story. The pair met in school and were both active in sports. At the time, Lincoln played football, and Caitlin played basketball.

Though Caitlin didn't pursue sports as a career, she now supports her husband, who is the current football head coach for the USC Trojans.

Caitlin's husband celebrated his 40th birthday on September 5, 2023. He rarely gets to celebrate his special day because the football season often clashes with his birthday. However, this time, his loving wife made sure that it was meaningful.

After leaving work late at night, Caitlin told Lincoln that she had a surprise for him. She had compiled a video of people wishing him a happy birthday. It included friends and family, former players, and fellow coaches who shared their memorable moments with Lincoln.

Caitlin also shares the same birthday with her spouse. She was born to Darrell and Beth Buckley on September 5, 1983. She grew up in Dimmit, a small populated city in Texas, and attended a public high school in the city.

Lincoln and Caitlin have exciting things they do as a couple. One of their family tradition is to rewatch the games when they get home.

During a podcast interview, she said her grandfather was a basketball coach for 32 years, hence her interest in sports. While in high school, Caitlin loved sports. Besides being a football fan, she also played basketball and ran track.

Though Caitlin didn't pursue sports as a career, she used her knowledge to support her husband in some of his coaching responsibilities. She also ensures she attends every single game. While Lincoln focuses on coaching, Caitlin takes care of other responsibilities outside football. She said:

"Like all coaches' wives, I try to take care of everything else outside of football so that he doesn't have to think about it."

Caitlin and her spouse have many things in common besides their love for sports; they share the same birthday. Though Caitlin doesn't have many followers on Instagram, she is active on the platform and has over 1,000 posts, but her page is private.

Caitlin and Lincoln Are High School Sweethearts

Caitlin and Lincoln's love story began way back in high school. The two became friends and began dating in 2002. At the time, Caitlin was a high school senior while Lincoln was a freshman at Texas Tech University.

On their first date, they went to Olive Garden and watched a film titled "Sweet Home Alabama." After dating for a couple of years, the lovebirds exchanged their vows on July 14, 2007, after graduating from college.

Close family and friends attended their wedding ceremony at First Methodist Church in Marble Falls, Texas. After that, the couple flew to enjoy their honeymoon in Maui, Hawaii.

Caitlin and Lincoln have been married for over a decade. In July 2023, the 40-year-old sportsman paid tribute to the mother of his children on their special day on his Instagram page.

"Happy 16th Anniversary @caitbriley," Lincoln captioned his social upload alongside a picture of the beaming couple, which was taken in El Dorado Golf & Beach Club in Los Cabos, Mexico. Caitlin and Lincoln posed together outdoors in white T-shirts with a view overlooking the ocean in the background.

Lincoln also acknowledges his beautiful wife's presence in his life In May 2023, the father of two posted a group photo of those he considers dear to him in his life, including the mother of his kids.

"To the most important ladies in my life…thanks for ALL that you do! Happy Mother's Day," the family patriarch captioned his Instagram post alongside the snap, which showed all the females widely smiling.

Aside from celebrating special occasions, Caitlin and Lincoln also spend time together by watching football games in person. In December 2022, he posted a group photo featuring him and his family posing with one football player, Baker Mayfield.

Lincoln wrote, "Great to see @bakermayfield get the Christmas Day W! 1st time to see one of my Q's NFL games in person….really special!" alongside the snapshot, which was taken at SoFi Stadium.

Lincoln and Caitlin also spend time with friends. In July 2023, he shared several pictures from their outing in El Dorado Golf & Beach Club with their pals. The group was also accompanied by their children.
