On January 25, 2023, Shemar Franklin Moore took to his Instagram account to share a screenshot of a People magazine article that announced the birth of his child. The actor's representative told the magazine that he and his girlfriend, Jesiree Dizon, had welcomed a baby girl!

According to the article, the family was healthy and happy. Dizon, then 39, already had a daughter Charli, then five, with Stephen Bishop and a son, Kaiden, from a previous relationship.

The "S.W.A.T." actor became a first-time father at age 52. "The Young and the Restless" star battled a coronavirus diagnosis in 2020 to become a father in 2023, and he was overjoyed with the news, writing on his Instagram post:

"Ya boy is officially a Dad!!! Dreams come true!! The rest of my life is here!"

Later that day, the actor shared the first photo of his daughter, telling the world her name - Frankie Moore. The star also shared the weight and height of the newborn: "7.1 Pounds... 20 inches.... 10 fingers n 10 toes... Already THE LOVE OF MY LIFE!".

Shemar's baby girl's birth date was meant to have a significant meaning to her father. Besides her significant birth date, the little girl had a particular first name linked to the "Diary of a Mad Black Woman" actor.

Shemar's Baby Was Meant to Have a Meaningful Due Date

On January 9, 2023, Shemar uploaded an Instagram video of his daughter's gender reveal party. The star noted how his mother was smiling from heaven and so proud of him even though she wasn't around anymore, and he didn't get to be a father while she was still alive.

The "Justice League: War" star also revealed that if his child were a baby girl, she'd have the name Frankie, but if it was a boy, he wanted to name him Legend. The "Criminal Minds" actor had expected his child to arrive on February 8, 2023, but the little girl had other plans!

Earlier in January 2023, Shemar appeared on "The Jennifer Hudson Show," announcing that he would be a father and revealing that his baby had a meaningful due date. The star explained that the expected birthdate was also the third anniversary of his mother's death, with him adding:

"I'm so excited. I'm sorry she can't be here. I was worried for a while that it was a 'that ship has sailed' kind of thing but God had my back, and things lined up."

Shemar, whose mother died in 2020, anticipated that fatherhood would be the best part of his life which was already pretty great. However, he knew that when God called him to heaven, having had the experience of being a father would allow him to feel "whole."

The person who made the actor a first-time father worked as a model but also played other roles. While Shemar was going to be new to the world of fatherhood, his girlfriend brought her motherhood experience from parenting two other children.

The star's girlfriend had signed with several agencies, including Wilhelmina Models, Renew Artists Hawaii, MGM Germany, and NTA Talent. Her IMDb page also said she'd appeared on television shows like "Hawaii Five-0," "True Blood," and "Days of Our Lives."

Besides all her career roles, Dizon also worked as a makeup artist, and the Instagram profile @j_birdbeauty was dedicated to showing off her skills. From her previous relationships, she had two children, with Kaiden being 16 in early 2023.

Having Charli and Kaiden meant her daughter with Shemar already had older siblings to play with. Dizon seemed quite close to her children, as seen from the social media posts.

In a September 2018 Instagram post that showed off her children, the model doted on them. The post showed the older boy kneeling next to his younger half-sister as they both smiled, with Dizon writing:

"If I did anything right in this life, it's these 2. Still trying to figure out how I got so lucky..."

The actress might be a mother of two at the moment with a third one on the way, but it seemed she and Shemar weren't done having offspring. She revealed they might be keen on having another sibling for their daughter.

More Babies in the Future?

Before now, Shemar and his girlfriend hadn't publicized their relationship, but after sharing their gender reveal, the couple opened up more. In the clip where the actor revealed his child's sex, Dizon shared some of her thoughts.

The actress said she wanted "more" children with Shemar. The former "Soul Train" host's partner also explained in the clip before the baby's gender was revealed that if they were having a boy, she was done having children.

However, if they were expecting a baby girl, she was keen on having another child. According to reports, Dizon had been dating the television star for a long time, and in the Instagram video he shared, she honestly said:

"I am excited, I'm anxious. I'm excited for this portion of our life together and it's gonna be amazing."

In 2016, Shemar stepped away from "Criminal Minds" to focus more on his family. He explained at the time, "I need balance in my life. I love what I do for a living, I love it from action to cut, but I also want to walk my dogs, travel, get married, have kids."
