News of her nomination came as a massive surprise for Jamie. In response to the delightful announcement, Jamie made a post on social media, saying how much the nomination means to her. She paired the heartfelt caption with an image of her mother and father smiling side-by-side.

In 1984, four months after Jamie had first seen Christopher, the two said their vows and made it official.

Jamie elaborated on the moment she heard, saying a friend of hers had come over to watch the announcement. The two sat in front of the screen, Jamie in her pajamas, waiting patiently for the results. She was so enthralled she didn't even realize her guest was taking photos of the whole event. She gushed:

"The first is the moment of hearing my name, and then the thrill of my friend, Stephanie's @stephaniehsuofficial name, and the rest of the nominations and then the best thing of all, a loving embrace for my husband. No filters. No fakery."

The actress admitted that she never thought an Oscar nomination would be in the cards for her. She expressed her thrilled surprise along with her post, saying, "It was never even in my wildest dream box." In the caption, Jamie also thanked the cast and crew of the film for their efforts and hard work.

Christopher Guest Has Given Jamie Lee Curtis Tight Embraces for 38 Years

For the past 38 years, Jamie has had the constant love and support of her husband, Christopher Guest. The actress and her actor and director husband met after Jamie saw Christopher in a magazine. At the time, she joked with a friend that they would marry one day. To Jamie's surprise, her joke turned out to be rather prophetic.

Jamie continued, saying her parents and grandparents would have been exceptionally proud to see her nominated for an Oscar, just like Tony and Janet were before her.

In 1984, four months after Jamie had first seen Christopher, the two said their vows and made it official. They adopted their oldest child, Annie Guest, a while after they married. A few years on, they also adopted a son, Thomas Guest, who later came out as trans and is now known as Ruby. Jamie commented on supporting Ruby:

"I'm a grateful student. I'm learning so much from Ruby. The conversation is ongoing. But I want to know: How can I do this better?"

Jamie and Christopher are still as enamored by each other as always. The actress admitted that she sees herself as an amorous and passionate person She called Christopher her "one and only," and she enjoys the security of having a partner by her side.

Jamie Lee's Touching Tribute to Her Parents, Children of Immigrants, and Their Families

After being nominated for the Academy Awards, Jamie spoke about her family history. She mentioned that her grandmother and grandfather were immigrants. Her mom and dad were raised by newcomers in America who had left their homes behind so their children could have a better future. She wrote:

"As this is a movie about a family of immigrants and their struggles through life, immediately I'm thinking of my parents, children of immigrants from Hungary and Denmark, whose families came here and sacrificed for their children to achieve their dreams."

Jamie continued, saying her parents and grandparents would have been exceptionally proud to see her nominated for an Oscar, just like Tony and Janet were before her. She also mentioned she was absolutely dumbfounded to see the film do so well and reach so many people. She penned:

"I am stunned and humbled and excited for our little movie that could and did and based on today's nominations, continues to do and do and do."

Jamie hails from a line of immigrants, as she mentioned in her Instagram post. The "Knives Out" star's grandparents on her father's side immigrated to America from Mateszalka. Helen and Emanuel Schwartz arrived in the country before their son was born, hoping to find a stable and secure future for their kids.

Eventually, they had their son, Bernard Schwartz, who later changed his name to Tony Curtis and pursued a career in acting. Tony married Jamie's mother, Janet, and the couple had their daughter together. Now, 65 years after the birth of Tony and Janet's little daughter, Jamie is exploring her roots.

The actress returned to Mateszalka, Hungary, to find out more about where her family is originally from. Jamie spoke to the mayor of Mateszalka and decided to restore the local synagogue, which had been in ruins for years. In the process, she built a museum named after her father to celebrate his legacy and origins.
