"As this is a movie about a family of immigrants and their struggles through life, immediately I'm thinking of my parents, children of immigrants from Hungary and Denmark, whose families came here and sacrificed for their children to achieve their dreams."

Jamie hails from a line of immigrants, as she mentioned in her Instagram post. The "Knives Out" star's grandparents on her father's side immigrated to America from Mateszalka. Helen and Emanuel Schwartz arrived in the country before their son was born, hoping to find a stable and secure future for their kids.
Eventually, they had their son, Bernard Schwartz, who later changed his name to Tony Curtis and pursued a career in acting. Tony married Jamie's mother, Janet, and the couple had their daughter together. Now, 65 years after the birth of Tony and Janet's little daughter, Jamie is exploring her roots.
The actress returned to Mateszalka, Hungary, to find out more about where her family is originally from. Jamie spoke to the mayor of Mateszalka and decided to restore the local synagogue, which had been in ruins for years. In the process, she built a museum named after her father to celebrate his legacy and origins.
