Randy Bick met his longtime partner and wife, Kathy Griffin, in the early 2010s. Though their relationship started off as an unlikely love story, considering their age gap, it blossomed into spontaneous marriage in 2020.

The couple weathered many storms together, including dire health scares, and briefly separated several years into their romance. However, they found a way back to each other and have been going strong since.

It Took Kathy Griffin and Randy Bick about 9 Years to Make It Down the Aisle

Griffin and Bick's romance began after they met at a food and wine festival in 2011. Their connection grew strong in the following years, though Griffin once expressed her initial doubts that it would go beyond a one-night stand due to their 18-year age gap. She said:

"Well, you know, I didn't think it would last [because] he's 18 years younger than I am! Because I thought he was just a man-[expletive], if you will."

She later added that Bick was "not like a Hollywood guy." He was a "regular guy" with a sweet and mellow nature. It was during a 2016 interview when Griffin gushed about her beau, but two years later, in November 2018, she announced their split.

She explained that their separation was amicable and said she would always adore Bick. However, the lovers reconciled a few months later, with Griffin announcing they were back together after they posed in a lovely picture with Daisy Fuentes and Richard Marx.

On December 31, 2019, Bick and Griffin shared a video excitedly announcing their engagement, saying they would wed sometime after midnight. They stayed true to their word and married on January 1, 2020, with Lily Tomlin, Jane Wagner's partner, officiating their union.

Randy Bick Took Care of His Wife Post-cancer Surgery

In August 2021, Griffin announced she had received a stage 1 lung cancer diagnosis. She told her fans that she would undergo surgery to remove half of her left lung that month. The medical professionals she visited also assured her she wouldn't need any further treatment.

Griffin also opened up about her brief addiction to painkillers after receiving much backlash for her controversial 2017 shoot with former U.S. president Donald Trump. She said she overdosed again on prescription pills in June 2020 in a suicide attempt.

However, she said she was determined to avoid that rabbit hole after lung surgery. Upon her return, Griffin again announced that the surgery was a success and she was on the road to recovery. Many celebrities, including Kris Jenner, wished the comedienne well.

Her husband played his part as he took care of her, cooking healthy and gluten-free meals, as Griffin shared. However, shortly after she returned from her medical operation, Bick accidentally and severely wounded himself with a knife while cooking.

Griffin had been resting in their bedroom when she heard him call for her downstairs. After seeing how bad the cut was, Bick was rushed to the hospital for treatment. Thankfully, after his wife told her followers of the incident, she assured them he was recovering smoothly.
