"She was a bartender at The Cat and The Fiddle [...] And when I saw her, I had that moment where I was like, 'Oh wow,' like, 'There she is!' And she did not have the same moment."

Johnson tried to introduce himself and make small talk, but Payne was only interested in getting his order. He started hanging out in the establishment during her shifts, although Payne did not notice his presence. After over two months of hanging around, he was able to hold a conversation with her.
