Did Kevin Samuels Have a Wife? His Private Life Remained Unknown after His Death
Kevin Samuels was well-known for his controversial online relationship advice and being a lifestyle coach. Many flooded his social pages to mend their relationships; however, he guarded his own fiercely. That was until his ex-wife exposed him.
Kevin Samuels became famous, or perhaps infamous, for much of his contentious takes on relationships and marriage, which were primarily directed at black women's standards. As an influencer, he used several social platforms to share his expertise.
While many disputed and criticized Samuels' opinions, his social accounts still amassed millions of followers and supporters, leading to his affluent lifestyle. Still, Samuels was a private man who protected his personal life.
Very little information was available about it while he still lived, including the identities of his former partners. However, shortly after his death, his ex-wife, with whom he shared a daughter, came forward to expose his absenteeism in his child's life.
His Private Life Remained Unknown
Samuels kept his love life hidden, as most of his romantic partners remained unknown. In August 2020, he was rumored to be romantically linked to an Instagram model, 33 years old as of this year, after he shared a photo posing with her on Instagram.
The image garnered mixed reactions and much speculation as the media pondered the nature of their relationship. Samuels never confirmed nor denied the rumors; however, news surfaced that the said model was married.
Moreover, Samuels was accused of breaking up that marriage. Some of his fans came to his defense, saying the picture did not indicate anything was happening between the two. It's unclear if their connection continued thereafter, as neither Samuels nor his rumored beau posted any more pictures together.
At the time of his death, he also appeared to be single. Though it's unclear when exactly, he married twice in his lifetime and welcomed one daughter, reportedly on June 29, 2000. The identities of both ex-wives and his child have been protected.
Kevin Samuels Died in May 2022
When news broke that Samuels had passed, fans were initially skeptical, as no official statement from family or friends had been released. However, a lady named Melanie King claimed she was his close friend and said she had "family confirmation" that he had died.
Moreover, the news network Revolt TV, founded by longtime artist P. Diddy—who dated the late Kim Porter— also confirmed his death. According to the Fulton County Medical Examiner's Office, Samuels died of high blood pressure, a.k.a. hypertension.
The office released the results of his death in July 2022 after the medical examiner found that Samuels was taking Atenolol, a medication used to treat hypertension. The finding, in turn, ruled out foul play.
Kevin Was a Social Media Influencer with Millions of Viewers
Samuels was born in Oklahoma, but up until his death, he stayed in Atlanta, Georgia. Working as a "misogynistic" relationship guru and internet personality, his YouTube channel had amassed over 1.69 million subscribers at the time of publication.
On Twitter, he had over 41K followers; Instagram boasted 1.2 million, while his official TikTok follower count stood at 86K. Though he died several months ago, his social accounts are yet to be, if ever, taken down.
Kevin Was Criticized a Lot
A few weeks after his passing, Samuels' ex-wife, with whom he shared a daughter, broke her silence about her ex-husband's lack of support following their divorce. The former couple had shared custody of their child, but Samuels was behind on child support payments.
The internet star was also estranged from his daughter and wasn't providing any assistance regarding her college education. The host of "Tonya Tko Show" revealed these details on a May 2022 installment of the Facebook Watch series, which accumulated over 2.2 million views.
