Courtney Richards Is Jim Nantz's Second Wife: Facts about Their Relationship
Jim Nantz's wife, Courtney Richards, shares the same interest in sports as her husband and works as a sports marketer. The couple has been married for over a decade and shares two children.
Jim Nantz built his career as a sports announcer with years of telecasts, covering the National Football League games. In 2019, he called the Super Bowl LIII live in Atlanta, one of the many events in his career.
Nantz's success didn't happen overnight but through years of hard work. Behind the scenes, he received unconditional love and support from his wife, Courtney Richards.

Since tying the knot in 2012, Nantz and Richards welcomed a daughter, Finley Cathleen Nantz, and a son, Jameson Nantz. The sportscaster is also a father to Caroline, whom he had during a previous marriage.
Courtney Richards Once Talked about Having Financial Help from Dad
Richards shares the same interest in sports as her husband, which is why she studied sports marketing and event planning. Unfortunately, her chosen field needed to generate more money to meet her bills.
At 24, Richards sought financial aid from her father, who sent $500 a month to add to her budget. "My dad says I have champagne taste on a beer budget," Richards recalled. "I love my job, and I love what I do, but the bottom line is that I'm not making enough to pay for myself."
Although she received extra money, Richards planned to repay her father's financial help. She also adjusted her lifestyle according to her budget at her father's request. Richards later worked for IMG in sports marketing.

A Year after the Divorce Payment Settlements, Jim Nantz Proposed to Courtney
Besides her career achievements, Richards has a successful marriage to Nantz. In 2010, Nantz proposed to his then-girlfriend while on vacation with George H.W. Bush and his family.
He initially kept the engagement under wraps, but the news eventually came out. At that time, Nantz's representative claimed the couple had revealed no engagement news.
The proposal came a year after the court ordered his almost $1 million divorce settlements to be paid. Nantz was previously married to Lorrie Nantz for 26 years. The pair separated after the sports anchor complained of their deteriorating marriage.
According to Nantz, his ex-wife stopped supporting him in his career and other interests. Instead, she focused on shopping and spending over $1 million in nine years in only one store. Following their divorce, Nantz had to pay Lorrie $916,000 in child support.

The Couple Had Perfect Timing for Son's Birth
In 2016, Richards gave birth to her first son with Nantz. Unfortunately, he could have missed his son's birth to call at Super Bowl 50. The doting dad initially did not like the idea, but his wife said, "Don't even talk to me. You're doing the game."
Richards did not give birth until a day later. Nantz credits his son, Jimmy Jr., for the perfect timing of his birth. "My boy definitely has a sense of occasion and a great appreciation and respect for timing and his father's needs for things to be organized and well-timed," he said.
While he does not talk much about his family life, Nantz is grateful that his second marriage is going strong. He is an excellent example of someone who can balance a great career and a happy family.
Nantz is not the only sports anchor in a happy marriage. Al Michaels, who has also called for many significant sporting events, is in a committed relationship with Linda Anne Stamaton, who he met at age 15.
The couple is also parents to two children, Steve Michaels and Jennifer Michaels Cohn, who are successful in their respective careers.
