Charlie Bigelow Is Elisa Donovan's Husband of 10 Years - Facts about Him
Charlie Bigelow, Elisa Donovan's husband, met the "Clueless" actress while they were on vacation with friends. Years later, the couple welcomed a daughter, and Charlie Bigelow's wife revealed how much of a "phenomenal" father he is.
While Bigelow does not have his own Instagram account, he regularly appears on his wife's page. She documents their life as parents and their family's fun and creative side when it comes to their Halloween costumes.
Despite having a famous wife, very little is known about Bigelow. However, his wife shared that despite his busy work life in the world of finance, Bigelow shares a close bond with their daughter.
Charlie's Friend Is the One Who Takes Credit for Him Meeting His Wife
Bigelow and Donovan met in 2009 while on vacation with friends in Sayulita, Mexico. Thanks to one of Bigelow's friends—who waved down Donovan from the beach— the couple path's crossed, and three years later, they were married. The couple said:
"After meeting three years ago in Sayulita, Mexico, while vacationing with friends, we are thrilled to report that we were married on October 13. We credit Charlie's friend Owen for waving Elisa in from the beach in what would be the moment that changed our lives."
Their outdoor wedding took place on the Vineyard Lawn at The Carmel Valley Ranch on a Saturday in Carmel, California. Bigelow and Donovan were joined by 150 guests, including her brother, who walked her down the aisle.
Sam Trammell from "True Blood," and his longtime love Missy Yager were in attendance, as well as Bruce Ferber, the executive producer of Donovan's sitcom "Sabrina, the Teenage Witch"— costarring Melissa Joan Hart and Donald Faison— and their baby, Scarlett Avery.
Donovan wore a sleeveless gown from Elizabeth Fillmore, paired with a veil and Jimmy Choo shoes, while her husband paired a Burberry tux with a white shirt and a purple tie. Donovan's brother revealed that she had cried throughout the ceremony, drying her eyes with their late's father's handkerchief.
The emotional ceremony was followed by an "elegant and warm" reception in a clubhouse decorated with calla lilies, ivory roses, lilacs, and moss branches in glass bowls with votives.
Their first dance as husband and wife was to "All Night Long" by Lionel Richie, which Bigelow assured his wife would be a good choice— and it was, she revealed. Bigelow's wife said:
"We had hoped to take a dance lesson beforehand, but it turns out planning a wedding with a 5-month-old doesn't leave you lots of extra time, so it never happened. Since I'm a big salsa dancer, I whispered, 'Let me lead…' to Charlie as we started, and we went for it."
The crowd enjoyed "phenomenal" speeches from actresses Cerina Vincent and Annika Marks over a menu of locally grown vegetables and organic meats paired with wine.
And instead of a wedding cake, Bigelow and his bride opted for an array of desserts, including French macaroons, mini cupcakes, warm cookies and milk, and creme brûlée. However, the highlight of Bigelow's bride's evening was watching him break it down on the dance floor with his mother to "Bust A Move."
Charlie Had to Be Taught Some Tea Party Skills as a Father
After Bigelow and his wife welcomed their daughter, his wife was asked how he was handling being a father to a girl, and his wife responded:
"Charlie is a phenomenal dad. He and Scarlett are super tight. We joke, well, I joke, and he says, 'Yeah, that's not a joke,' that one day they will definitely be sitting across from me at the table saying, 'Why is Mom so nuts?'"
The world of finance had Bigelow up at 4 a.m; however, he ensured he spent quality time with his daughter when he arrived home, which included dancing around.
However, while he nailed the dancing part, Bigelow's wife humorously revealed that his tea party skills could use some work. "When Scarlett says, 'Daddy, do you want some tea?' he used to say, 'No. I'm good,' which did not go over well with her. So I had to coach him a little," Donovan said.
