Roman Stylianos Gianopoulos Had an 'Extraordinary' Birth - Facts about Molly Ringwald's Son

Roman Stylianos Gianopoulos and his twin sister came along after their mother revealed that she was unsure whether she would have more children. He has made a handful of appearances in public with his famous mother and has already developed his own sense of style.

After giving birth to her eldest child, Roman's mom welcomed him and his twin sister in 2009, and Roman has since kept a low profile compared to his twin sister. However, he appears on his parents' Instagram from time to time.

They document the family's life and travels, and Roman can be spotted with his signature long hair and his resemblance to his two sisters.

While his mother has not been shy about revealing her children to the public, Molly shared that she was hesitant for Roman and his sister to watch some of her past "problematic" films. She was in her 40s when she became a mother again, and following her divorce, Molly said:

"I was definitely wondering if I was able to find love again. I was nervous. There was a lot of trepidation."

Roman Was Born a Few Minutes Later than His Sister

Compared to her first pregnancy with her eldest child, Mathilda, Roman's mother revealed that her pregnancy with him and his twin sister was smooth sailing, bar the "terrible nausea" and fatigue.

Determined to have a natural birth, Roman's mother was induced on July 9 and was in labor for eleven hours. At 9:01 a.m. on July 10, 2009, Roman's twin sister, Adele, was born. Roman was breech and followed three minutes later.

Roman's parents' representative announced the news of his and his sister's births, and while speaking about her delivery, Roman's mom shared:

"It was such an extraordinary birth. The doctor grabbed him by the foot and pulled him out. Adele had hogged a lot of the oxygen in the blood, so right away, Roman needed a little more attention. But both babies cried almost immediately."

Roman Stylianos Gianopoulos Is Already Bigger than His Mother

Over the years, Roman has quickly grown to be taller than his mom at only thirteen. In January, Molly took to Instagram to announce that he was already taller than her after sharing a throwback picture of Roman as a baby.

In the caption, Roman's mom quipped that he was so big that he would need to carry her if they were to recreate the photo. In 2019, Roman's father posted a snap of Roman and his sister in Greece, and with their matching long hair, the siblings could not be told apart.

Roman has since kept his shoulder-length brown locks as his signature style. Despite officially entering his teenage years, Roman's mother revealed that she was hesitant to watch some of her past "problematic" movies with Roman and his sister. She said:

"It definitely is a different time. People ask me if I've watched them with my kids, and I did watch the first one... with Mathilda, and it was such an emotional experience. I haven't found that strength to watch it with my two other kids."

Roman Has Had Several Public Appearances

While Roman does not have his own social media accounts, fans can keep up with his travels and boat rides while on vacation via his parents' social media.

In 2020, Molly Ringwald shared a throwback of them in Jardin du Luxembourg, Paris, and that same year, Roman and his dad posed for a snap from the Hamptons.

And in 2013, Roman and his family were spotted out and about during Labor Day weekend at the 32nd Annual Malibu Kiwanis Chili Cook-Off, Carnival & Fair.

However, his twin sister appeared in front of the camera more often as she attended the American Ballet Theatre's Fall Gala at David H. Koch Theater at Lincoln Center in New York City with her mother in 2021.
