The 67-year-old star prepares to become a grandfather for the first time with his ex-wife Demi Moore and his current wife, Emma.

Recently he made an outing for lunch - a very rare public appearance.
In March 2022, Bruce Willis' wife of 13 years (as of February 2023), Emma Heming Willis, and his ex-wife of the same years, Demi Moore, joined with their joint five daughters to make a shocking public announcement. They revealed in their Instagram post that Bruce was retiring from acting due to an aphasia diagnosis.
The blended family confessed how it was challenging for them but shared their appreciation for the compassion, support, and love they'd received. They revealed how they were handling the issue as a family unit.

Bruce's family explained that they announced it because they wanted his fans to know what was happening as they knew how much he meant to them and vice versa. To show how united they were as a family, the post was shared by Demi and Emma.
Demi's children with, Bruce, Rumer, Scout, and Tallulah, also uploaded the same post on the same day. Emma's two daughters, with the actor, Mabel, and Evelyn Willis, were also mentioned in the posts, but they were too young to have Instagram accounts at the time.
Early in the following month, a source allegedly close to Bruce said his family was "doing whatever they can [to support him]." The insider revealed that the family had "rallied around him" to help him cope with what was going to unfold.
In July 2022, Emma uploaded a short Instagram video showing how her husband was doing. The star appeared okay as he was recorded hilariously trying to learn a dance move from one of his youngest daughters.
In January 2023, Scout shared two Instagram images that featured herself and her father, showing how he was still thriving despite his diagnosis. During the same month, Tallulah uploaded two photos where she and her father made funny faces as they posed together.
In December 2022, Demi also shared some family pictures of herself, Emma, and their daughters with Bruce ahead of Christmas. The family had kept their word when they said they would support him as a unit, and in 2023, Bruce received some exciting news.
How Does Bruce Look Now and What Was the Happy News He Just Found Out?
In December 2022, days before Christmas Day, Rumer and her partner, Derek Richard Thomas, announced they were expecting! The couple shared black-and-white images of Rumer's growing baby bump, revealing how Bruce would be a first-time grandfather!
Emma [Heming Willis] also shared part of her blended family's AFTD announcement on her Instagram page, as did Demi [Moore], Rumer [Willis], and Tallulah [Willis].
On the same day, Demi, who was also going to be a grandparent for the first time alongside Emma, uploaded a fun hospital picture of Rumer and her sisters. In the photo, the family gave fun poses as Rumer lay on a bed showing off her belly, while Bruce's ex-wife said she was "overjoyed" for her daughter, adding:
"It’s an honor to witness your journey into motherhood, and can’t wait to welcome this baby into the world!"
In late January 2023, Bruce was photographed, after the announcement of his daughter's pregnancy, as he and some friends went on a lunch outing in Los Angeles, showing how he was thriving. Sadly, it was revealed that the former actor was diagnosed with something else.
What's Bruce's New Diagnosis? Is It Curable?
In February 2023, Bruce's family announced his new diagnosis on The Association for Frontotemporal Degeneration (AFTD) website. The star's family said his condition had progressed, and they now had a specific diagnosis of frontotemporal dementia or FTD, adding:
"Unfortunately, challenges with communication are just one symptom of the disease Bruce faces. While this is painful, it is a relief to finally have a clear diagnosis."
However, what hadn't changed was the joint support that Bruce, then 67, would continue receiving from his family, including his pregnant daughter. FTD was described as "a cruel disease" many hadn't heard of, but for those under 60, it was the most common form of dementia.
Despite the new diagnosis, the "Die Hard" actor's family said they hadn't given up hope, and with the help of his fans, they would help him live a full life. Emma also shared part of her blended family's AFTD announcement on her Instagram, as did Demi, Rumer, and Tallulah.

The women called themselves "Ladies of Willis/Moore" as they signed off the post. A fan who replied to Emma's post believed the diagnosis wasn't a death sentence, adding that Bruce "will have the best life surrounded by love and good vibes."
On her Instagram Story, Scout explained that she was feeling emotionally tired and overwhelmed but also in awe of the many people's love for her father. Once again, the family's joint statement included Emma's young daughters.
