Richard Gere Hospitalized after Wife's 40th Birthday Celebration - She Gave Update on His Health

Richard was previously married to Cindy Crawford from 1991 to 1995, and he tied the knot with Carey Lowell in 2000. Carey and Richard had a son together named Homer Gere. Alejandra was previously married to Govind Friedland, and the couple welcomed their son, Albert Friedland, in 2012.

Although Richard became a father again late in life, Alejandra has revealed the actor is still in excellent physical condition. She opened up about her husband, saying he has more energy than her at times. She also mentioned that Richard had promised her more than a decade of time together. She remarked:

Although Richard is as fit as a fiddle, Alejandra revealed that her husband contracted a case of pneumonia while the family was vacationing in Mexico. She mentioned in an Instagram post that the family has been feeling ill since before her 40th birthday. Unfortunately, Richard had to be hospitalized.

It seems that sickness has been dogging Richard since before their trip. According to TMZ, the actor had a bad cough before the family went away. While on holiday, the actor's symptoms intensified, and his family also became ill. Finally, the symptoms became so bad that he checked into a hospital.

Luckily the actor didn't stay in the hospital for long. He was treated for pneumonia overnight and walked out of the hospital the following day. Apparently, the actor was given a strong course of antibiotics to help fight the disease and has rejoined his family. Alejandra even posted a snapshot of him walking with her and their son. She captioned it:

"I woke up this morning and I saw the news and all your kind and worry messages, he is recovering ❤️‍🩹 he is felling much better today! The worst has already pass! Thank you all for you sweet messages we really appreciate them!"

The family went back to vacationing after the health scare, and Richard seems to have joined them. In Alejandra's Instagram post, she and her son are walking with Richard. The actor seems to be doing fine in the image, and he's holding his son's hand while wearing a mask.

"I was a little lost, without light, and knowing him gave meaning to my life. It was feeling that someone was reaching out and showing me my true path. It had to be that way in this lifetime."

Richard has also commented on his marriage, saying it is the perfect bond. The actor mentioned that his life has changed for the better since he married Alejandra. He admitted that his life has been much calmer after he met his wife, and he noted:

"I have found the quiet and happy life that I have always sought."

Richard and Alejandra have been happily married since 2018, and Alejandra has said her husband has luckily recovered from his pneumonia.
