Canadian-American actor Brendan Fraser recently won his first Screen Actors Guild Award (SAG). This achievement marks his long-awaited comeback, following more than a ten-year hiatus after being "blacklisted" in showbiz.

Fraser was presented with a Best Male Actor in a Leading Role award at the 29th Annual SAG Awards ceremony on February 27, 2023, and delivered an emotional speech, choking up between words.

During his acceptance speech, he held up the trophy and said, "This is good," adding he would "treasure" the award "but never more than what I treasured that I used to keep in my wallet, which was my SAG card that I earned in 1991."

Fraser explained that card made him feel like he "belonged" and admitted that if anyone had told him back then that he would eventually bag a SAG award, he would have never believed it.

The Indiana native also stated if someone had told him then that he would end up working "with a world-class filmmaker like Darren Aronofsky," including his co-stars Hong Chau, he would never have believed it.
