Joy McManigal Received a Prestigious Education

Giancarlo Esposito's ex-wife was born to Morland ‘Mac’ McManigal and Gloria McManigal. She grew up in Green Valley together with her siblings Jay and Jill.

In the 1980s, Joy attended Stanford University and John Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies. According to Joy's LinkedIn profile, she also owned and managed the McManigal's Pub in Ireland from 1985 to 1990.

What many people don't know is that Joy was among the people who convinced Giancarlo to audition for "Breaking Bad."

2021 was a challenging year for Joy and her siblings after losing their parents. Her father passed away peacefully at their home, surrounded by his children. He died on May 22, 2021, aged 90.

Joy's father, born in Pilger, Nebraska, in 1930, attended Wayne State College and graduated with a degree in Physical Education. Proud of his midwestern roots, Joy's father set up a scholarship program to support promising students in his town.

Joy's father worked in different fields; he began his career working in the army, then he shifted gears and ventured into the insurance industry. Besides that, he was a leader and a nobleman who made a difference.

Joy's mother, Gloria, died peacefully at their home on September 25, 2021, five months after her father's death. Gloria was born in 1932 and grew up in Sioux city with her parents. Joy's mother was a professional teacher; she attended Wayne State Teachers College, where she met Joy's father.

She also received her bachelor's degree from California State Long Beach and attained her Master's degree after graduating from the University of San Francisco.

Gloria was an elementary school teacher and enjoyed doing her job. After 30 years of teaching, she eventually retired in 1985. After retirement, Joy's mother spent most of her time traveling worldwide.

Joy Founded the Program To Promote the Common Good

Over the years, Joy has expanded her career in different fields. She has gained expertise in dynamic and entrepreneurial experience in event planning, youth leadership, life coaching, career counseling, non-profit management, and more.

She has held senior management positions in different organizations over the years. Currently, she is the founder of The C4 Way, a program that promotes the common good by encouraging people to be themselves. The program focuses mainly on empowering youth to be their best versions.

Joy McManigal and Giancarlo Esposito's Relationship After Their Divorce

Though less is known about Joy McManigal and Giancarlo Esposito's family life, they married in 1995, and after being together for many years, they called it quits.

The former couple remained good friends, and Joy's sister Jill still refers to Giancarlo as her brother-in-law. During their marriage, the pair were blessed with four children.

Giancarlo achieved international fame after playing Gus in the Emmy-award-winning Series "Breaking Bad," where he played alongside Bryan Cranston and Aaron Paul. What many people don't know is that Joy was among the people who convinced Giancarlo to audition for "Breaking Bad."
