'Seinfeld' Star Jerry Seinfeld Celebrates 20th Birthday of 'Clone' Son Yet He 'Wasn't a Natural' at Raising Him
- Jerry Seinfeld is a happy father of three children!
- "He wasn't a natural when our kids were born," his wife of 24 years recalled.
- Now they celebrate the 20th birthday of his look-alike son.
When Jerry Seinfeld became a first-time father his life completely changed. He and his wife, Jessica Seinfeld, created a beautiful family despite the comedian spending a lot of time on his busy Hollywood career.
However, the star never declined whenever he had to be there for Sascha, Julian Kal and Shepherd Kellen. In 2007, Jerry confessed that becoming a father changed almost everything he did, whether its him trying to stay healthy or use his time to plan his schedule.

The comedian said he'd always think that if whatever procedure he had undertaken was taking him away from his children, it better be important. Jessica's husband found fame in Hollywood through his shows, "Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee" and "Seinfeld."
Despite his fame the Emmy Award-winner didn't raise his children to be spoiled. He revealed that he preferred being with his family at home instead of some celebrity event and he didn't need special days as they were all essential.

In 2017, the star said they spent a lot of time together and he enjoyed every second. He shared that he believed in the mundane and ordinary, and he loved being a father so much he didn't mind the less appealing aspects of parenting which he hilariously called “garbage time.”
The "23 Hours to Kill" star said he liked being able to watch his children for a minute as they read comic books in their rooms. He didn't mind snooping in when they had Cheerios at 11 o’clock at night, although they're not supposed to be up at that time, before adding:
“The garbage, that’s what I love.”
However, he knew raising his children wasn't always going to be smooth sailing. In 2016, he jokingly noted how being a father was the greatest pain in the world, that one could get involved in but it was also "the ultimate dad-ness, full dad-ness.”
In 2020, Jessica confessed that her husband was incredible as a father. However, he didn't start off that way, with her stating, "He wasn't a natural when our kids were born," and he didn't immediately begin to carry their babies of push strollers.
The star's wife said Jerry joked that it took him ten years to warm up to the process! The mother of three noted how the comedian often traveled on weekends, leaving her to do most of the early caretaking, including taking the children to activities and sports.
However, by 2020, the trio were teenagers and Jessica revealed that her husband had found his footing as a father. The GOOD+ Foundation founder said Jerry's strength showed up in how patient he was with their children.
Where she was weak, he was strong, and the two parents complimented each other, and she wouldn't have it any other way. Since he's found his place, Jerry had been more present with his children and his son celebrated a big milestone in 2023.

It was revealed that Julian's father was fun, attentive, and easy-going with his children; however, in 2017 the star confessed that he'd once "lost his temper" with one of his children due to "Keeping Up With the Kardashians." The comedian recalled how Sascha was watching the reality series on her phone while in bed and he didn't like what he was seeing and got upset.

In 2007, the author confessed that she didn't leave Eric for Jerry and her first marriage had been irreparably broken when they met. Jessica and Eric were even in couple's therapy, but she didn't have the courage to leave him.
Sometimes they just stared at him [Jerry Seinfeld] and questioned his humor when he made jokes.
The businesswoman was on the Upper West Side at a Reebok gym, wearing headphones and filling her bottle with what when she first met the comedian. Jessica was going through a difficult time and the star trued to make her laugh but she wasn't interested in being entertained.
She walked away but he came around again and made a joke, leading her to laugh. Jessica agreed to attend his HBO special taping two nights later and confessed she'd just broken up with someone else, adding:
“I told him I didn’t think this was the right time for me to be involved with anybody.”
The star's future wife even told him what had happened in her marriage and he asked her to hug him. Jessica was touched by the stranger's compassion for her pain, and he shared his own similar story except that he'd cut his 1984 engagement off before marriage.
Jerry had been engaged to Carol Leifer. The author and Eric married on June 13, 1998, but within two days of returning to New York from their July honeymoon, Jessica started moving her things from their shared apartment.
She moved them to her grandmother’s place in Manhattan. After meeting the comedian, they started dating after Eric filed for divorce in October 1998, and Jerry and Jessica got engaged in November 1999, before tying the knot on December 25, 1999.
In 2020, the actor hilariously revealed that being in New York and not Hollywood was an advantage for his marriage as he'd always believed Los Angeles was bad for unions! He felt having four seasons was good weather for a marriage.
Jerry said when it was warm and sunny all the time, that didn't play out well for long-term relationships as they made you want to explore because it was "nice out." However, living in New York made people want to stay at home in the winter!
The star also revealed that although he was a well-known comedian, his family weren't always fans of his humor, and they tool him down when he wasn't funny. Sometimes they just stared at him and questioned his humor when he made jokes.
Addressing whether the "Seinfeld" crew would ever reunite, Jerry said it wasn't a possibility. He said he'd never discussed or thought about it and the only time they'd revive the show was if it would save the world.
