Salma Hayek is one of Hollywood's most sought-after women. She has often been the love interest of powerful men in movies. However, she is not only a Hollywood heartthrob but also a mother.
She welcomed her daughter at a late age and has embraced being a mother fully. Her daughter is now one of her sole focus in life, and she spends much of her time with her daughter, who looks nothing like her.

Hayek had a strong desire to be a mother, and by the time she found the love of her life, she was 40 years old. Her desire to be a mother prevailed, and she welcomed her daughter with him.
Hayek acknowledged that she had a child late in life, but she was so grateful that her daughter had arrived that she felt nothing else in her life mattered. She and her beau both had stable careers and could comfortably welcome a child.
The actress was concerned that she was not going to be able to welcome a child because she was over 40 by the time her daughter arrived. When she did welcome her child, she was ecstatic.

While Hayek was overjoyed to become a mother, she believes women should not feel societal pressure to welcome children. She says society allows women to think they should have children young, even before they might be ready to do so.
The actress believes that society's expectations of women are unachievable. She quipped:
"Society thinks if you don't have children, you've failed as a woman, even if you are CEO of a company. You've got to be beautiful, smart, skinny, tall, rich, successful at your job, married to the right guy – and have genius children. And by the way, you also have to be a nun!"
Hayek also said that while she couldn't wait to be a mother, she doesn't believe that is every woman's dream. She believes that some women have no desire to become mothers and should not be shamed for that.
Now, Hayek's daughter, Valentina, is a teenager, and she revealed that it is a different parenting process than parenting a child. She is learning that she has to let her daughter be who she is and not interfere.

Because Hayek has stepchildren who are older than her daughter, she knows what it is like when children leave home and says it leaves a void in a parent's life, which leaves them wondering who they are without their children there.
Why Was Hayek's 15-Year-Old Daughter Slammed in Her Mom's Dress?
While many celebs take their significant others to awards ceremonies, this year, Hayek opted to have her daughter as her date to the Oscars instead. Valentina wore one of her mother's vintage dresses.

Hayek's stylist, Rebecca Corbin-Murray, found the dress in Hayek's archives for her 15-year-old daughter to use when they walked the red carpet this past weekend. Hayek initially wore the strapless red Isaac Mizrahi dress in 1997.
Hayek wore the gown to the Fire and Ice Ball and styled it with a diamond choker. Valentina chose a more understated look, pairing it with a thin silver necklace and a Gucci Jackie 1961 bag.
The actress was also dressed in red, but her look was more expressive, with her sequined red dress with a halter neck detail perfectly offsetting her deep brown curls and neutral makeup.

Many news outlets shared photos of the mother-daughter duo on the red carpet, discussing how wonderful they looked together. However, that is different from what fans were focused on.
Fans took the comments section of posts about Valentina and Hayek at the Oscars to say that the teenager looks nothing like her mother and is instead her father's "double.” One fan said Valentina was "not a bit" like her mother.
After the event, Hayek took to Instagram to share a video of herself eating in a kitchen with her dress unzipped. She implied in the caption that while being glamorous felt great, eating was more important to her.
In the video, a kitchen counter filled with empty glasses and plates can be seen with a semi-undressed Hayek standing in the background. Her dress is unzipped, and when she turns around, she begins tucking into the food she holds. A voice in the background says:
"Expectation versus reality."
There is laughter in the background of the video as Hayek devours the food she is holding while remaining as glamorous as ever with a full face of makeup on and wearing all her jewelry.

Fans loved Hayek's candor in the situation and said they enjoyed that she showed the side of her that was not as glamorous. Another fan simply commented that they loved the color of Hayek's dress.
Why Was Hayek Slammed Because of Her Husband?
Hayek and her husband, Francois Henri-Pinault, tied the knot two years after their daughter was born. Their ceremony was held in Paris on Valentine's Day. The actress and billionaire have shared a wonderful union ever since.
Many believe Hayek married her billionaire husband for his money, but she has confirmed that she married him for love alone. She didn't care what others thought about her motives to marry Pinault and said that they were still madly in love more than a decade later.
She also admitted that because of her husband's money, people assumed he might be a bad person, but he has always been a wonderful man who cares for his family and pays as much attention to them as he can by turning off his phone when he is not working.

Hayek has often been asked how she and her husband have been so happy and in love for many years. She shared:
"When there is conflict, we put all the energy into solving the problem — never finding who to blame or, 'You should have done this or that.’ No. All our energy goes into 'How do we solve this?'"

Pinault and Hayek ensure they never say anything nasty to one another, which allows their marriage to stay resentment-free. They are always kind to one another and focus on building one another up.
Hayek also feels her husband is one of the best in the world because she can be herself with him and doesn't feel like he limits her. However, she doesn't share the story of how they met because even though it's romantic, she wants to keep it sacred and for herself.
