"I Love Lucy" solidified the careers of many actors, not least of which was Lucy herself, Lucille Ball. The show was an iconic piece of television and inspired a range of spinoffs, most notably the show "Here's Lucy." After surviving the initial success of the sitcom that made her a household name, Lucille also starred in shows such as "The Lucy Show."

Following the overwhelming success of "I Love Lucy," the production company turned to the new "Here's Lucy" to keep the show's legacy going. The sitcom focused on Lucy and her two children, played by her actual children, Desi Arnaz Jr. and Lucie Arnaz.

The two children found success at an extremely young age, appearing in front of the camera and becoming the talk of the town before they had even finished their primary education. Although neither pursued careers in acting after they matured, they were widely known for starring alongside their famous mom.

Desi grew up in the spotlight, with the media aware of almost everything he did.

Lucille shared her two kids with her "I Love Lucy" counterpart, Desi Arnaz. The two met in 1940 while filming "Too Many Girls." The actress and bandleader fell in love almost instantly, and Desi joined his wife on the show after they eloped in November of the same year they met.

Over the years, they made one of the most successful sitcoms of their time, Lucille started a production company, Desilu Productions, and they had their children. Eventually, the pair divorced, and Lucille remarried, but the legacy they had left behind in the annals of television history persisted.

Eventually, he gave up on his acting career, while his sister chose to preserve her mother's legacy while following in her footsteps.

Although Desi and Lucie were seemingly destined to become Hollywood royalty, their early exposure to fame also made their lives challenging. Lucie has opened up about her relationship with her mother, saying they didn't always get along. She gladly spoke about her parents for a new documentary on their family.

Lucie also launched her own talk show in 1985 and made waves with her theatre career.

Her brother, on the other hand, was often in the news, usually for some new scandal or a blooming romance. Desi had the public's eyes on him before he was born. While his mother was pregnant with him, she continued to act. When she delivered little Desi, the whole nation watched her on-screen counterpart have a kid of her own.

Desi grew up in the spotlight, with the media aware of almost everything he did. He started acting when he was only four years old, appearing as an extra on his mom's show. Following his first taste of the acting world, he worked toward a career as an actor, starring in numerous TV projects.

As he grew older, the media focussed heavily on Desi's personal life, and when he became a dad at the age of 15, news outlets couldn't keep their eyes off him. Desi and his 15-year-old girlfriend, Susan Callahan-Howe, had a daughter, Julia Arnaz.

Desi went on to date a series of famous women, garnering more attention with each relationship. Eventually, the actor settled down with Amy Laura Bargiel in 1987. The two shared a daughter, Haley Arnaz, and were happily married until Amy sadly passed away after battling cancer in 2015.

Throughout his life, Desi struggled with his identity. The actor was constantly compared to his on-screen counterpart, resulting in a severe substance abuse habit. The actor became a grandfather after his daughter, Julia, had a daughter of her own, Desiree S. Anzalone. Sadly, Desiree passed away in 2020.

What Happened to Now-71-Year-Old Lucie Arnaz?

Like her brother, Lucie started her career as an actress quite young. She featured in "The Lucy Show" at 11 and appeared alongside her brother in "Here's Lucy." After tasting life in front of the camera, she branched out, starring in a number of movies and TV shows, making a name for herself in the acting community.
