Sherrill Sajak – Facts about Pat Sajak's Relationship with His 1st Wife
Pat Sajak was once married to Sherrill Sajak for seven years and adopted her son from a previous relationship. During Sherrill's marriage, she and her family lived in their Glendale residence, which they sold after the divorce.
Sherrill Sajak was "Wheel of Fortune" host Pat Sajak's first wife, whom he was married to for less than a decade.

Sherrill Sajak Had a Son from a Previous Relationship
By the time Sherrill began her relationship with Pat, she was already a doting mother to a son, Mason, whom she had during a previous relationship. There is little information known about Mason as well. However, an article in 1985 reported that he was 17 years old, suggesting he was born in 1967 or 1968.
Sherrill tied the knot with Pat in 1979 when her son was still a little boy. Since then, Pat has adopted Mason and raised him with Sherrill.
When the couple married, Pat had yet to taste fame as a television host. It wasn't until 1981 that he started working on the hit competition series "Wheel of Fortune."

Sherrill Sold the House She Used to Live In with Pat
The show made Pat a successful host, and while he was working hard and earning over $500,000 a year, his mother and son were living in their Glendale residence. Pat said about his work on "Wheel of Fortune:"
"The game's the thing. My job is to make the contestants look good and to keep the game moving."
Sherrill's then-husband worked a few days a week to pre-tape the show and sometimes traveled to promote it. While he was already earning a lot of money, his agent reportedly negotiated for a better deal in 1985, when the host was about to sign a new contract.
Meanwhile, Sherrill's ex-husband waited a few years before tying the knot again.

Despite his fame, Pat and Sherrill kept their relationship out of the spotlight. Sadly, they divorced in 1986, when the television personality was around 40. After ending a seven-year union with no biological children, Sherrill's ex didn't want to give marriage a second chance anytime soon.
The former couple eventually sold their two-story Glendale home for $699,000. The estate, built in 1911, boasted a master bedroom with a walk-in closet and balcony, three other bedrooms, three bathrooms, and a beautiful kitchen.
It also has a laundry room and a detached garage. The Glendale estate had 2,600 square feet of space on a double-lot property. Eventually, it was sold for $425,000.

In 1990, the couple welcomed their first child, Patrick Michael James Sajak, who sometimes appeared on his father's game show. However, Patrick did not pursue a career in the entertainment industry. He made Pat extremely proud after becoming a doctor in May 2021.
