Becky G's Parents Were Once Homeless - More about Frank and Alex Gomez
Becky G came from humble beginnings with parents Frank and Alex Gomez, who once had difficulties making ends meet. Nevertheless, they raised their family to be good people with close familial ties.
Rebecca Marie Gomez cemented her name in the entertainment industry as Becky G, famous for the hit song "Shower."
Becky was born on March 2, 1997, to Frank and Alex Gomez, who were supportive of her singing and acting career.

Besides her parents, Becky was also fortunate enough to find a sweet boyfriend in Sebastian Lletget, an LA Galaxy player, who threw her a surprise party for her 21st birthday in 2018. However, life wasn't always so sweet for Becky as her family once struggled to make a living.
Becky G's Parents Are Both from Mexican Immigrant Families
Frank and Alex were high school sweethearts who met at Santa Monica High School. It didn't take long before they started their family, and by the time Becky G's mom was 23, she already had two sons and two daughters.
Before Becky--the eldest among her siblings--was born, Frank hoped he would have a son. However, he immediately fell in love with his daughter. He recalled:
"I felt proud to be a dad. It's a special thing – having your first daughter."

Frank also has another daughter from a different woman. In 2017, Becky G revealed that she had a half-sister she didn't know about until age 13. According to the artist, her half-sister, Amber, was not a part of their family because of undisclosed reasons, but they had already met before her revelation.
While Frank and Alex live in the USA, their parents came from Mexico and only migrated to the country for better opportunities. Frank's father, Miguel, even "nearly choked" because of the fumes while crossing the border in a truck. Becky G's dad was the first in his clan to be born on American soil, so his parents called him "little miracle baby."
Frank and Alex raised their kids to be proud of their Mexican heritage and take inspiration from their parents' hard work. Becky, a second-generation American, called Mexico her home, even if she was born in the USA.

Becky G's Parents Lived in a Garage and Had Struggled Financially
Even in the USA, Frank and Alex worked hard to make ends meet. At one point, their family lived in their parents' garage due to financial difficulties. Becky recalled:
"We lost our home in the 2008 [financial] crash. My parents were broke, and we had to check 'homeless' on our lunch applications."
At nine, Becky claimed she experienced her first "midlife crisis." Then, she thought of ways to help her family get back on track.
Becky thought of joining the entertainment industry, and her parents supported her. She booked commercials, short movies, and modeling gigs, and after a while, her parents allowed her to keep an agent and attend dance class. It was around that time that she wanted to pursue a singing career.
Becky G's Parents Are Just about Everything to Her
Through talent, hard work, and determination, Becky succeeded in her career and bought her family a new house. Frank and Alex were undoubtedly grateful and wanted to give their daughter the master bedroom, but it didn't feel right.
Becky described her parents as cool, laid-back, and relaxed people. They have guided her in life and kept her grounded and united with her family.

She credits Frank and Alex with making her everything she has become and for always being there through triumphs and failures.
Like Becky, many Hollywood entertainers have Mexican blood, including Rich Orosco, whose parents were Mexican immigrants.
