Harrison Ford, 80, Stuns without Noble Mustache - Wife 'Will Never Forgive' Him for Facial Hair
- At 80, Harrison Ford shocked the public with his cleaned-shaved appearance without his mustache.
- His wife never forgives him for his facial hair though "Indiana Jones" likes to wear his handsome beard with a mustache.
- Harrison Ford is known for his role in "Indiana Jones," yet his career has slowed, and he still keeps the same facial hair. His wife does not enjoy how it looks, but he keeps it anyway.
Harrison Ford is now 80 and still remembered for his tough-guy role, but "Indiana Jones" was not the only role he played. He had an extensive career in Hollywood, and fans are still loyal to him for it.
Ford also starred in "Star Wars" and said that even though he is in his 80s, he does not plan on retiring from acting anytime soon. He says he enjoys the process of making movies and the challenge that comes along with it.

The actor said that he would not enjoy reinventing himself to work, but he wanted to be able to star in more roles. He also said he would love to do something with his wife, but something has yet to come.
Most recently, Ford starred in "Captain America: New World Order" as Thaddeus "Thunderbolt" Ross. He assumed the role when the original actor, William Hunt, died last year.
Ford was seen on the set of the Marvel Universe movie this week. He appeared in sophisticated black suit pants, a light blue dress shirt, and a black tie. The gray-haired actor was not sporting "Thunderbolt" Ross' usual facial hair, though.
Fans have become used to seeing Ford's character in the movie with a mustache, like in the comics, and were shocked that he had a clean shave. Many took to Twitter to share their thoughts on seeing Ford's face differently to the character's.
One fan tweeted: "Clean shave?" and others replied that he may have had a fake mustache. Others asked where his mustache had gone, and others were simply upset that Ford's upper lip was bare.
Many fans shared their heartache at not being able to see Ford with his character's signature facial hair, while others thought that he looked "weird" without it. One fan deemed him "unrecognizable," and another said they missed his mustache. Hunt, who played the character first, also sported a mustache.
What is the Story with Ford's Facial Hair?
In the '90s, Ford grew out a mustache so that he could play his famous "Indiana Jones" role. The facial hair trend was popular then; many fans thought it was Ford's signature feature.

While fans loved Ford's look when he had a mustache, he was also often teased for it and was once called:
"Glen Fry's food taster."
It was also something studio execs and directors did not enjoy on Ford. He revealed that when he tried to grow facial hair, Bob Daly, an executive at Warner Bros., would tell him to remove it, he said: "If I tried to grow some facial hair, he'd say, 'Nah, I paid for your face.'" Yet Ford loved being part of the "facial hair gang."

Daly believed Ford's most significant asset was his face and did not want to compromise it. However, Ford convinced him to have a beard in "The Fugitive" as it made for a great disguise when his character was on the run from the police.
Ford then shot "K-19: The Widowmaker" and played a Russian submarine captain. He again grew facial hair, but Daly told him to shave it. Ford shaved off his facial hair, put it in an envelope, and sent it to Daly, who put it in the Warner Bros. museum.
Why Does 'Indiana Jones' Wife Never Forgive Him for His Facial Hair
While Ford's fans loved his facial hair and were sad to see him without it, his wife, Calista Flockhart, agreed with Daly and did not enjoy it when her husband had facial hair.

Flockhart and Ford have been married since 2010, and Flockhart accepted Ford's children as if they were hers. They have kept their relationship mostly private throughout the years but occasionally go out in public together.
The couple is focused mainly on their family and enjoys spending time with them despite their busy schedules. Ford and Flockhart concentrate primarily on their son, Liam, and a source says they are playful with one another.

Although Ford and Flockhart share a playful bond, Ford aggravated her by shaving off his beard only to grow it back. He had grown the beard for a role and shaved it off when he finished shooting. Yet he was called back to reshoot some scenes and had to grow the beard back. He joked:
"My life will never forgive me for that."
He then confirmed that the beard had been suitable for the character he was playing, and it only took his wife three and a half months to forgive him for growing it back when she thought it was gone for good. What a sweet couple.
