In August 2014, British actress Alice Eve, through her representative, confirmed her engagement to Alex Cowper-Smith, a financier from the UK.

Their love story began in the corridors of Westminster School, London, where they were students and high school sweethearts. However, they broke up, pursued different careers, and even dated others. Eventually, fate brought them back together. They rekindled their romance in 2014 and tied the knot soon after.

"Life took its course, and we both went out and pursued our careers," Alice said. "I always adored him, and we were able to reconnect at this time in our lives and magically fell back in love."

Before asking for her hand in marriage, Cowper-Smith asked the actress' father's permission to wed his daughter. He later popped the question while on a family vacation in Ibiza, to which Eve happily said yes.

She tried to hold back her tears, but naturally, they started falling. The bride was a vision in white as she donned a custom-made Alice Temperley wedding dress.

Eve, who is known for her starring in "Crossing Over," "She's Out of My League," and "Entourage," had English and American fans excited with the announcement of her engagement but their hearts were later broken after the announcement of a divorce.

Alex Cowper-Smith and Alice Eve Got Married in 2014

Eve and Cowper-Smith didn't prolong their engagement and tied the knot in December 2014. As Eve narrated, she rode a white cab to Brompton Oratory, London, with her father, without the public realizing who was in the vehicle. It was a beautiful moment they shared. Eve continued:

"When we got to the church, I took a tip from the movies and just looked at my groom. I held eyes with him because I would have been overwhelmed if I had looked at everyone else."

She tried to hold back her tears, but naturally, they started falling. The bride was a vision in white as she donned a custom-made Alice Temperley wedding dress. Meanwhile, her groom looked dapper in a black bowtie suit. Their wedding was a private affair, but photos later made the news.

Alex Cowper-Smith and Alex Eve Looked Happy in a Public Sighting after Their Wedding

In 2015, not long after becoming husband and wife, Cowper-Smith and Eve graced the St. Regis Midnight Supper at Colefax and Fowler with their presence.

The event also had Heida Reed and Cressida Bonas in attendance to honor Marchesa's co-founders, who created bridal gowns for St. Regis.

They look happy as ever and in love with each other. Eve wore a dainty white lace gown with flower embroidery, while her spouse wore an unbuttoned black suit. Cowper-Smith and Eve were undoubtedly good-looking, well-dressed, and well-loved by those around them.

Alice Eve Later Called Her Divorce from Alex Cowper-Smith a 'Rebirth'

Not long after, the couple experienced trouble in paradise. When they could no longer save their marriage, it ended in divorce two years after the wedding.

Eve opened up about her breakup in 2018, claiming she had been a little more serious after her separation as she had to confront a difficult ending to a chapter in her life. She also called her divorce a "rebirth" and felt she had more control over her choices.

Her recent Instagram posts are often solo snaps, if not with female friends, suggesting she isn't in a relationship.

The "Sex and the City 2" star paid more attention to other vital aspects of her life following the split, such as her relationships with friends and family and the other things she prioritized. She said:

"I looked forward suddenly and was like, 'Where do I want to be at 45? What do I want to have in my life or not have in my life?' [...] I think I valued my family a lot more and didn't take it for granted."

Besides her personal life, Eve also focused on her career, which surprisingly helped her handle the divorce better. The actress's character in 2018's "Replicas" experienced a similar situation, and so there were conversations about the role's rebirth, which she could relate to.

From All Appearances, Post-divorce Alice Eve Seems to Be Single

Eve doesn't talk much about her romantic pursuits or personal life nowadays, but her Instagram account shows fans what happens behind closed doors.

Unfortunately, brief marriages are nothing new among celebrities. Many in the entertainment industry experienced divorce, including Christopher Harvest, whose marriage to Vivica A. Fox ended after four years.

Harvest was a singer who could have made waves in the music scene after signing with Tupac's label, Deathrow Records. However, things took a turn for the worst when Tupac died and Harvest's career along with it.

As a result, Fox became their family's breadwinner while Harvest allegedly fell complacent with being at home without generating income. Their relationship was inevitably affected. Fox eventually left him to pursue greater heights and focus on herself and her career.
