American actor Tony Danza, most famous for his roles in "Who's the Boss?" and "Taxi," has amassed fans worldwide with his quippy television characters. Yet his family has always been his main priority.
Danza is now in his early 70s, the proud father of four, and the grandfather of more. However, fans still criticize him for his hair and how he appears in public. The star does not let these comments get to him.

There have been some scandals during Danza's career, and he has also reinvented himself seamlessly into each new age and role that he has taken on after being in the industry for over 40 years.
The actor's career began when two producers watched him in a boxing training session. The men were looking for an actor with the ability to box. Danza landed the role and hired an agent, who got him the audition for his role in "Taxi."
Between filming for his myriad of Hollywood roles and being nominated for Golden Globe and Emmy awards, Danza found the time to get married three times, twice to the same woman. He first married Rhonda Yeoman in 1970.

Yeoman and Danza met in college in Iowa. The couple welcomed their first child, Marc, a year after they tied the knot. Yet three years after their wedding, when Marc was only a toddler, they called it quits.
A decade later, Danza and Yeoman reconciled and walked down the aisle again in 1983. Shortly after their second vow exchange, they welcomed their second child, a daughter named Gina. However, the couple once again went their separate ways in 1985.

By 1986, Danza had found the second love of his life and tied the knot with Tracy Robinson. A year after their wedding, they welcomed a daughter named Katherine. In 1993, Danza and Robinson completed the Danza children with the birth of Emily.
Danza Talks About his Family Emotionally While Being Called A "Lady" because of His Hair
While Danza's love life was a roller coaster, his primary focus remained on his children and the children they brought into the world. Although Danza admitted that being a grandfather could be "daunting."
Danza enjoys being a grandfather and finds it fascinating to watch his children being parents. He mused:
"It's very profound to watch your son father his sons, especially when he's so much better at it than you were. It's really scary!"
The actor joked that his son was a better father than he was because Marc plays with his sons instead of making them watch him play a sport like baseball and then asking how he did when the game is over.
Danza wants to be better than ever for his grandsons and is taking inspiration from his son on how to treat his grandchildren. He says he wants to be the grandfather they want to go fishing with.
The "Taxi" alum says that watching his son parent his children has given him much more respect for the young man. He is also even more proud of his son than before his grandchildren were born.
Grandfatherhood has been a profound experience for Danza, and the star recently learned about what his own grandfather went through to bring his family to the United States before he was born.
Danza's maternal grandfather left Sicily, Italy, in 1909 and made the long and arduous journey to America. When he arrived in America, the hardships did not end, as he had to work less-than-ideal jobs to put food on the table.
When Danza learned of the hardships his grandfather faced to give his family the life they had, he was saddened and admitted:
"It's a lot to go through. You know what's funny is, I never even considered a long heritage. It never really entered my mind, so it affects you (and makes you feel) some kind of crazy gratefulness."

After fans saw the interview in which he discussed his grandfather, they didn't focus on the content but on Danza's appearance. Danza now sports long, gray hair, about which fans are not pleased.
One fan said they: "wouldn't have recognized him" because his hair was longer than they were used to seeing on him. Another fan said he looked like their aunt, with one more agreeing that the actor resembled a lady.

However, some fans didn't mind his look, saying the color looked great on him, but he could make his hair shorter. One fan jumped to his defense, saying people shouldn't criticize his appearance when discussing something as serious as his ancestry.
Why Was His Marriage Ruined?
While Danza and Robinson's relationship lasted longer than his relationship with Yeoman, the couple was still unable to stand the test of time. After fifteen years of marriage, they decided to call it quits.

Danza filed for divorce in 2011, citing "irreconcilable differences" as the reason for their split. However, a source close to the couple said they had been separated for years prior and had just decided to make the divorce official in 2011.
While his second marriage ending was not the result he had hoped for, Danza did not waste time on dwelling on his heartbreak. Instead, he focused his energy on his children and ensured he was the best grandfather he could be.

Now, he spends his time singing with old friends, hanging out with his son and grandsons, or working out. While the actor has faced much criticism and heartbreak, he has never let it throw him off course.
