Kyra Sedgwick Is a ‘Natural Beauty’ at 57 Showing Off Her ‘Medusa' Hair in Selfie
Kyra Sedgwick interrupted her Instagram followers' "regularly scheduled programming" on Wednesday with an update on what she gets up to when left to her "own devices."
In the four photos, or "exhibits," Kyra Sedgwick subverts Hollywood's high-glam beauty standards. In exhibit A, "Hair," she smiles wide-eyed in a beach selfie, half her curls in a top-know and the rest blowing about like tentacles.
"Star Trek" actor Jonnie D. Fritz commented that he's "obsessed with the Medusa-inspired" snap. A fan wrote, "The first hair picture looks like you're at the static science fair. LOVE that you're not afraid to put this picture out there for all to see. You are just a normal GAL."
Exhibit B, "Makeup," shows the fresh-faced actress, nose red without concealer, a look she labeled "Rudolph." A sloppy pedicure she gave herself with what looks like white correction fluid is marked as exhibit C.
Astrologer Steph Johnson complimented the "natural beauty," adding, "Your toes remind me of lockdowns which were long in Melbourne, Australia, and we were definitely left to our own devices."
The final photo is of a goat, which "The Closer" star identifies as being her in her "element." Sedgwick wrote in closing, "Which is your favorite lewk? So grateful for my glam squad."
Kyra Sedgwick Refuses to Be An "Airbrushed" Rendition of Herself
The 50-something star told Byrdie at the beginning of 2021 that she did not want to be an "airbrushed version" of herself as it is "inaccessible."
The couple's TikToks of them singing and dancing with their goats regularly go viral.
Though challenging, Sedgwick wants to be the age and person she is, an example and not a cautionary tale of embracing oneself without touch-ups.
During the pandemic, she pampered herself with soaks in the tub, and Sedgwick added that she loves hiking as "nature really grounds" her. When not at their homes in Los Angeles or New York City, the "Space Oddity" director and her husband, Kevin Bacon, can be found at their farm.
The hobbyist farmers have a dream petting zoo with goats (two of which Bacon gifted his wife), pigs, alpacas, and miniature horses on the Connecticut property.
The couple's TikToks of them singing and dancing with their goats regularly go viral, and their daughter, "Smile" actress Sosie Bacon, has joined their crooning in the country.
During one of their walks on the farm back in 2021, Kyra Sedgwick and Bacon encouraged fans to support their family business by watching the "three Bacons" on their respective shows that week, "Mare of Easttown" "City on a Hill," and "Call Your Mother."
