Lockett Pentz Has a Free Spirit – Facts about Diplo's Son

Famous DJ, Thomas Wesley Pentz, known around the globe by his stage name Diplo, has never been married. But he is a father of three, and his eldest is Lockett Pentz.

Diplo shares Lockett with his ex-girlfriend of many years, Kathryn Lockhart. The pair also share one other son, Lazer Pentz. The two boys are no strangers to public life as they have lived in the spotlight since they were young, and their parents are not afraid to post them on social media.

From his parents' Instagram posts, one can tell that Lockett is an old soul with a maturity beyond his age. Despite not reaching his teenage years yet, he already has deep conversations with his parents. The oldest of the Pentz brood also has two other step-siblings from Diplo and Lockhart's relationships after their separation.

Lockett Pentz Is Diplo's Eldest Child

Lockett was born on October 14, 2010. His mother, Lockhart, is also in the entertainment business as an actress. She has appeared in films such as "Unwelcome" in 2017 and "Gravid" in 2018. The mother of three—including her other son with Diplo, Lazer—says Lockett is a free spirit.

Lockett's parents admitted that although they had been together for some time, he was conceived by accident. However, they also weren't sure about the terms of their relationship. When Lockett was a year and a half old, and his parents still lived together, the DJ confessed that he would hang out with other girls.

When Diplo and Lockhart welcomed their second child in November 2014, they had already separated. The DJ, who counts the likes of Chris Brown, Justin Bieber, and Madonna among his collaborators, was dating Katy Perry at the time.

Lockhart is a proud mother of her two boys, who she says gave purpose to her life. She doesn't regret the stretch marks or saggy breasts that she got from the experience of motherhood because she was blessed with two little souls in exchange. On Lockett's sixth birthday, his mother said she was grateful to have him.

Lockett Pentz Has Made Public Appearances

As the son of a celebrity, Lockett is no stranger to public attention. He has been making appearances at various public events since he was a child. In 2017, he posed confidently with his father and little brother for E! News' Glambot.

When he was younger, Lockett was already conscious of his public appearance and would display his great sense of style. In 2019, his hair was dyed purple, significantly changing from his usual black hair. Two years later, he spotted blonde hair which matched his father's hairdo.

Lockhart also described Lockett as having an old soul, and the pre-teen showed his maturity when he got upset by gun violence after the Uvalde shooting. His mother added that he was annoyed when other kids didn't take the active shooter drills seriously.

Lockett Has Two Half-Siblings

Diplo and Lockhart are not strict about hiding their kids from the public eye. Lockett and Lazer frequently appear on their parents' social media. In 2020, Diplo posted sweet pictures of him and Lockett with the caption, "Happy birthday Lockett, today might be the last time I can carry you like a little boy."

His little boy has grown up fast and seems to be maturing quickly. In 2021, Diplo said his dismayed son turned to him and asked an intricate question about the financial market. Although he spends much time on the road, Diplo enjoys cherishable moments with his kids, including a special delivery on Father's Day in 2021.

Lockett is part of a large extended family with three siblings and several parents. In addition to his brother Lazer, he has one sibling each from his father and mother's sides from their relationships post-separation.

Diplo has a son named Pace from his relationship with former Miss Universe Trinidad and Tobago, Jevon King. Pace doesn't appear on his father's Instagram, unlike his older brothers. Lockhart also had a baby, Lennox, in 2022 with her partner. The family seems close, as King commented on Lockhart's post saying she missed Lennox.
