Ann-Lorraine Carlsen Nantz Didn't Share Her Husband's Career Interests

Lorrie and Jim's marriage had deteriorated for many years before Jim filed for divorce. The couple had gone through multiple sessions of therapy, but that didn't improve the rocky relationship. However, the public officer presiding over their case, Judge Howard Owens, concluded that neither was to blame.

According to the judicial officer, one of the most telling contributions to their separation was the lack of shared interest in Jim's television career. The career required much traveling to college football, golf, and basketball games as Jim was one of CBS's leading commentators. He also had to attend multiple charity events.

Testifying during the divorce hearing, an emotional Jim said Lorrie had developed a disinterest in his career over time and didn't feel like attending events that were significant to him. He added that he also required a lack of emotional support from his spouse.

Lorrie responded that she tried to attend as much as possible, but those events were not her most significant life interests. Judge Owens said it was not unique to them as it is commonplace for a couple to grow apart after 26 years together.

Jim filed for divorce from his Lorrie after more than two and a half decades of marriage. The sums of money that were in the finalized divorce settlement were shocking to many. Jim agreed to pay Lorrie $72,000 a year in alimony until he dies or she remarries and $1000 per week in child support for two years.

Before the divorce was finalized, Jim had already moved on with a woman about 21 years his junior. However, when passing judgment, the presiding officer stated that their relationship had not caused Jim and Lorrie's marital problems, as those had happened long before the affair began.

The year after Jim and Lorrie's divorce was finalized, he reportedly proposed to his then-girlfriend Courtney Richards, and the couple tied the knot two years later in 2012. They welcomed their son in 2016. Jim nearly missed the delivery as he was on duty, providing commentary for Super Bowl 50.

The couple shares two children, son Jameson Nantz and daughter Finley Cathleen Nantz. Fortunately for Jim, he finally found a partner who shares his interest in sports, and his daughter Caroline has been spotted at sports events with her father. On the other hand, Lorrie finally got her privacy and stayed out of the public eye.
