Jacklyn Smith became famous after her role as Kelly Garret in the five seasons of "Charlie's Angels." While filming for the show, Smith did not know that she would start a clothing line after the show ended.

It all started when Kmart, a retail chain, offered the actress to work with them by promoting their women's clothing line with her name. They only asked to use her name, but Smith considered this an opportunity to explore her interest in fashion design.

Instead of letting Kmart use her name, Smith convinced them to let her design the clothing line. In 1985, people saw Jacklyn Smith Collection displayed in Kmart stores nationwide, introducing the concept of celebrities growing a brand. Smith's clothing line with Kmart marked the beginning of her career in fashion and design.

While Smith made a mark through acting and designing clothes, her personal life went through turbulent phases. She went through three failed marriages before meeting her fourth husband, Brad Allen, who she loves very much.

When Smith met Allen for the first time, he was her father's heart surgeon. She never expected to marry him, let alone raise her children, Gaston Richmond and Spencer Margaret Richmond, with him.

In an interview, Smith revealed that she got close to Allen because of her mother. It happened when they were still at the hospital for her father's surgery, and her mother didn't want her to walk towards the parking area alone. Allen accompanied her regularly, and the rest is history.

Smith still feels proud of her decision to marry Allen. She thinks the secret to her successful marriage is that they "have the same values and upbringing." Moreover, she appreciates him for being an "amazing second dad" to her kids.

After spending more than 25 years with Allen, Smith thinks love evolves with time. She explained that it feels safe knowing your partner is there for you and confessed:

"I feel very loved and protected."

Even when Smith struggled with breast cancer, her husband always supported her. He proved his love by standing by her side during her worst time.

Facing Cancer in Her 50s

In 2002, Smith was diagnosed with breast cancer when she went to the hospital for her yearly mammogram. At first, the doctors didn't think it was cancer. It wasn't until the biopsy results came in that they confirmed the scary diagnosis.

"Fear invaded my whole being because I hadn't educated myself," the actress revealed during an interview. She was worried for her children because she didn't know if they would grow up without a mother.

However, the doctors had already assured her that her chances of survival were 98% because they had caught cancer very early. With Allen by her side, Smith underwent radiation and surgery. Despite beating the disease, Smith revealed she still goes for cancer screenings regularly.

Smith loves spending time with her children, even though they are adults now. She said being around them makes her feel better, and confessed:

"I de-stress with my family, just at home pruning roses, cutting, working in the garden."

The actress appeared in multiple TV shows besides "Charlie's Angels" and was successful in her business ventures, including a skincare line called "Jacklyn Smith Beauty." After having a successful career, Smith believes her greatest achievement is to have her family by her side.

Besides her love for her family, Smith is passionate about interior design. She revealed she is more into older houses, like the Georgian colonial home she bought in 1991.

When purchasing it, Smith had imagined what each room would look like and how she would renovate it, but her surgeon husband thought only the kitchen needed some fixes. He said:

"But she redid every room in the house."
