Rebel Wilson's Parents Named Their 4 Children 'By Themes'
Rebel Wilson's parents owned a unique business in Australia, and it appears that the actress may have gained her showmanship skills early on, before carving out her own path in Hollywood.
Rebel Wilson has taken the world of show business by storm thanks to her exceptional talent for acting and comedy. It appears that the ability to entertain runs in her blood.
Despite not beginning her career as a child actor, Wilson acquired the skill of entertaining people through her parents' business venture, which involved working with canines.

Rebel Wilson is widely recognized for her comedic roles, such as portraying actress Kristen Wiig's eccentric roommate in the popular film "Bridesmaids." However, her achievements extend far beyond this one iconic performance.
She has worked alongside some of the biggest names in Hollywood and has been a part of several hit movies such as "Bachelorette," "Struck by Lightning," and "What To Expect When You're Expecting." She has also lent her voice to the animated film "Ice Age: Continental Drift."
Moreover, Wilson's breakout role was in the 2012 musical comedy "Pitch Perfect," where she delivered an outstanding performance alongside the talented cast, including Anna Kendrick, Anna Camp, and Brittany Snow.
Rebel Wilson's Parents Were Dog Breeders
Wilson had an unconventional upbringing as her parents were professional dog handlers who traveled across the country selling canine products from a caravan. She called their lifestyle "carnie life."
Rebel's parents were far from conventional, and this was evident in the unique names they gave their children.
The name of Wilson's father remains undisclosed; however, her mother's name is Sue Bownds. Bownds is an accomplished international dog show judge, and interestingly, she resembles her famous daughter.
The family bred beagles, but Wilson couldn't have one as a pet due to their many dogs. In addition, during her first 12 years of life, she was also forced to attend dog shows every single weekend.
At that time, Wilson was named "junior handler," a role she compared to the child beauty pageant reality show "Toddlers & Tiaras," but with dogs. The dogs were dressed up and shown to the public during the events. She recalled:
"The weird thing is that you win not very much money. You win $50 or a plastic jug, but you don't win that good of stuff, and yet you have to get up really early and bring all the dogs and equipment to the dog show."

Rebel Wilson's Parents Gave Their Children 'Freedom' Names
Rebel's parents were far from conventional, and this was evident in the unique names they gave their children. Rebel is the eldest, born in 1980. Before she was given her name, her dad pressured her mom to choose "suitable names" for their child.
Fortunately, Bownds overcame any problems that arose from naming their firstborn daughter. They went on to welcome their other three children. Liberty was born in 1982.
Bownds decided to choose a name that evoked a sense of freedom, and because she is a dog breeder, she liked to name them "by themes." Wilson's mother gave birth to her son Ryot in 1988 and Annachi in 1992.
Annachi's birth name is Annaleise, but she prefers to be called by her moniker, which sounds like the word "anarchy." She and Wilson have a close bond.
Wilson and her siblings are proud of their names. In a nod to their family's love for all things freedom, Liberty named her daughter something that sounded just as independent and powerful— Sovereign.
Where Are Rebel Wilson's Parents Now?
Not many fans are aware of the identity of Wilson's father or whether he was present in her life. However, in 2014, Wilson revealed that her father had passed away during the second week of the production of her own TV show, "Super Fun Night."
She had kept her father's death a secret and grieved privately while working on various film and TV projects. Wilson never revealed the reason behind her dad's death.
Since her father passed away, Wilson's mother has frequently been featured on her social media accounts. In 2021, Wilson shared photos on her Instagram story of her mom receiving a piece of jewelry to celebrate the latter's retirement.
In 2022, the same year Wilson welcomed her own daughter, Royce, she shared a heartwarming photo on her Instagram story of Bownds carrying the infant with the caption, "Grandma time." The actress shares the child with her partner, Ramona Agruma.
