Neil Patrick Harris & Husband David Burtka’s Twins Recently Made a Red Carpet Appearance

Neil Patrick Harris has enjoyed much success as an actor. And recently, he shared the experience with his family as his husband and children— who he welcomed via surrogacy— stepped out to support the actor on the opening night of his Broadway show.

In a recent Instagram story, Harris' husband, David Burtka, shared a picture of the family of four from their red carpet appearance on the opening night of the Harris' Broadway Show, "Peter Pan Goes Wrong." While Burtka matched with their son, Gideon Scott, in a black tux, Harris opted for a lighter-colored outfit, and their daughter, Harper Grace, looked radiant in a floral-printed dress.

Harris took to Instagram on April 14 to express his excitement and nervousness about his new project and shared a snap of himself crossing his fingers as he stood in front of the "Peter Pan Goes Wrong" poster.

"First show tonight! 'Peter Pan Goes Wrong' on Broadway! Think happy thoughts for me..! This cast is so lovely, so talented, so sharp. Hope you get a chance to come and see us all - the world needs a proper, well-crafted laugh right now," he captioned the post.

After walking the carpet, Burtka and the twins saw Harris, who received critical acclaim for his comedic talent, perform live as the play's narrator and as a pirate. Harris and Burtka welcomed their twins via surrogacy on October 15, 2010, and the "How I Met Your Mother" star took to Twitter to share the news.

"Babies!! On 10/12, Gideon Scott and Harper Grace entered the Burtka-Harris fold. All of us are happy, healthy, tired, and a little pukey," he tweeted. As the twins approach turning 13, their actor father humorously revealed that he went from trying to instill good values in them and seeing how it all plays out as they neared an age where they no longer like him.

"My parenting skills are both terrible and amazing. Having children makes you grow in a thousand different directions, and I am just so thankful to my kids for all of it," he said. In 2022, Neil Patrick Harris and his husband celebrated their 8th wedding anniversary after meeting and falling head-over-hills in love.

In honor of the milestone, Harris shared a picture of the happy couple and shared, "Eight years ago, our knot got tied. He's still the center of my world, the person I want to impress, the bright light in my life. Happy anniversary, David. I love you so much."
