Emmanuelle Proulx is famous for being the lead singer of the indie pop band Men I Trust. However, the artist tries to live a normal life outside her music.

Asked how the band got so popular, the three-person team, including long-term friends Jessy Caron and Dragos Chirac, are unsure how they garnered so many fans. The band is a DIY-heavy group of musicians with no publicist and little to no mainstream media coverage, but they have millions of monthly listeners on Spotify.

Proulx has been a permanent group member since 2016 but also established a solo project. Besides music, she is a lover of dogs and food. However, she keeps much of her private life out of the media; hence, there is no information about her love life or family background.

She Became a Part of Men I Trust in 2016

After Men I Trust was formed in 2014 by Caron and his high school friend, Chiriac, the pair were later joined by Proulx part-time. However, in March 2016, Proulx became a permanent band member.

Proulx described her role in the team as a singer, guitarist, guru, and ROI Officer. She is not the only one in the group with that many roles. Caron identified his roles as bass guitarist, CEO, and vice president. Chiriac plays the keyboard and is the motivator and MC.

The many roles are understandable, given they produce their music independently. Speaking about the band being multifaceted, Proulx said, "We do everything independently: mixing, mastering, and music videos, it's a source of great pride for us. We have total control over our music as well as our image, and it gives a much more intimate side."

She Has a Solo Project Named Bernache

Apart from being a key member of Men I Trust, Proulx also has a solo recording career, making music in parallel with her band career. In January 2017, she revealed via Instagram that she would release her first single, "Your Name," on January 31.

For her solo career, she used Bernache, a name people in her inner circle use when referring to her. It is a French word for Goose, a bird with "a crappy little voice." The singer last released music on Spotify in 2020, a song called "From Me."

Emmanuelle Proulx Likes to Post… a Lot of Food

Proulx is a big food fan, as seen through her Instagram posts and stories. One of the most prominent and noticeable features on her social media is the various food she will be having. In an interview with Born Loser, she was asked about specific things she likes to check out in cities they visit, and her response was:

"Jessy and I really like to try out the food! We're fans of Asian cuisine. A good Ramen or Sichuanese meal is always great. Dragos likes to try the chewing tobacco and fish filet sandwiches LOL."

Another of Proulx's favorite things is dogs. The Men I Trust band member has a massive admiration for the furry companions and appears to be a dog owner herself.

Like many celebrities, Proulx keeps much of her personal life out of the media. She doesn't comment on her family or romantic life in interviews or on social media.

Proulx's Instagram is full of photos from tours and travels to different parts of the world. The Quebec native has visited many parts of the globe, including France, The United States, and Switzerland.

In January 2018, Proulx visited Desert Hot Springs in California and Las Vegas later that month. In May 2018, she was in Iserlohn, Germany, and a few weeks later, she was swimming on the shores of the United Kingdom.

The singer is quite adventurous. Although she is a musician, many of her posts are not centered on that; instead, she shows several other activities which make it seem like she is any average person enjoying their life.
