In 1967, Deidre Hall became one of the country's leading actresses while playing the role of Dr. Marlena Evans in the fan-favorite 1965 soap opera, "Days of Our Lives." The star reprised the role in August 1991, thrilling her fans who loved her character so much!

Different races and people from other regions were loyal to the actress who won America Women in Radio and Television (AWRT) Best Television Role Model award in 1994. Hall was so well acclaimed that in 1982, 1985, and 1995, she won five Soap Opera Digest awards for Best Actress.

Her hard work allowed other daytime actors to get more notice. In late April 2023, the actress was now 75, and the previous month she shared an Instagram photo showing how she looked, followed by a still from the "A Kitchen Minute" Instagram installment.

The follower shared that they were the same age as the actress, but their hair was brownish-black and gray below the sides. The fan revealed that her gray hair was only noticeable when she pulled it back, and her mother's was the same.

A fifth person thanked the star for sharing her "Kitchen Minute" videos which they enjoyed. On the March 10, 2023, image, Hall posed alongside Remington Hoffman, who played Zatima Li Shin on "Days of Our Lives."

Her gray, windswept hair and ageless beauty were on full display, as it was in the April post, where she appeared in a video alongside a woman named Leigh Futch to discuss perfect vacations and going gray.

The actress was aging gracefully and was a happy mother of two. However, the road to motherhood wasn't easy, and she was once told that she wouldn't bring life into the world.

Why Was Deidre's Road to Motherhood Bumpy?

Hall was married four times by 2023 and finally became a mother in her last marriage. However, how she welcomed her children was seen as untraditional back then, as she'd previously undergone surgery, artificial insemination, and in-vitro fertilization in her quest for motherhood.

The star tried all sorts of procedures to have children for 20 years during two marriages. Instead, all that did was leave her with physical and emotional scars, and at 48, she relented about being infertile.

With Steve Sohmer, her fourth husband, they hired Robin, a surrogate, who was inseminated with Hall's husband's sperm. The couple welcomed their first child, David Atticus, on August 23, 1992, and their second one, Tully Chapin, was born on January 19, 1995, through Robin.

In 1995, she played herself in her life story movie "Never Say Never: The Deidre Hall Story." The celebrity said the scariest part of the role was when she had to show the day her first son was born, as when Robin welcomed him, Hall's friend and lawyer was dying simultaneously in the same hospital.

Hall also struggled with acting out the grueling procedures she'd undergone with hopes of becoming a mother. In a scene about her in-vitro process, she described the moment as terrible and wished she wasn't there.

Strangely, the scenes where a friend gave her medical shots for her procedures and the conversations with her doctors weren't as daunting to shoot as it was to live them. Steve wrote the film's script, and fans got to have a hard-hitting look at Hall's difficulties in becoming a mother.

When asked why she'd taken on the movie, the actress revealed that she'd spent two years doing in-vitro when a doctor told her, "You are out of the baby business." Making the movie gave her pleasure, but casting the right people was difficult.

Hall ended up playing herself because it didn't seem viable to have someone else play her while footage of David's birth showed her in it. Welcoming her sons and having them handed to her were moments where it didn't matter how they came about to be.

When her oldest arrived, his cord was cut, and he was given to the actress, with her stating, "I remember saying, 'If anybody ever tries to hurt you, I will kill them.'" Hall said the air changed in a room when a new life arrived.

The celebrity didn't regret her marriages because they made her and got her where she is today. She once went to a Florida school, but when she married, she relocated to California, where career opportunities were revealed.

Hall said she'd learned from her unions and still had some outstanding bonds, but she had no interest in marrying for the fifth time. The star was a proud mother who didn't mind showing off her gorgeous children.

What Life Does Deidre Have and How Do Her Children Look Now?

By 2023, Hall's children were all grown up, and they looked pretty different from each other. On May 19, 2016, the actress took the Sohmer siblings to her Hollywood Walk of Fame star ceremony in Hollywood, California, where they posed together for photos.

When asked that month what she felt about having David and Tully see the love and public attention, she received at the event. Hall said she protected them when her sons were small by keeping their images from being taken.

However, as mature and capable people, the boys hadn't seen her in her actress role or on the red carpet. The duo had seen her with the media and in movies, but as a mother seeing all the attention she was receiving, she wanted to find out what they thought!

On David's 30th birthday in 2022, his mother shared a throwback Instagram photo of him as a child. The celebrity said her life changed forever when he was born and was pleased when he showed interest in traveling and adventures.

David got his education abroad and was happy spending time with his elementary school friends, doing production work, or getting home for his family's movie night. Hall said she was proud to be at the forefront of watching his life play out before wishing him a Happy Birthday.

In 2019, the actress revealed how her oldest had been attending a Paris college and graduated in May, while his younger brother took a break before returning to his studies. The star said her life was the best, with her family being healthy like her.

The celebrity was blessed to have a career she loved, people she adored, and a flourishing garden she attended to, before noting: "It doesn't get any better, and I'm beyond grateful." Hall was still starring in "Days of Our Lives."
