"Spousal support to be payable to petitioner pursuant to the terms of the parties' Premarital Agreement."

Baumgartner, the mother of the actor's three youngest children, ages 12, 14, and 15, requested joint custody. Costner also filed for joint custody the following day. The actor's representative told the outlet:
"It is with great sadness that circumstances beyond his control have transpired which have resulted in Mr. Costner having to participate in a dissolution of marriage action."
Costner's side asked for privacy for his estranged wife and their kids “as they navigate this difficult time.”

The actor and Baumgartner first met in the 1980s before they started dating. And in 1999, the former couple gave their relationship a shot. They dated for four years before calling it quits for a while in 2003.
In a 2018 interview, he said: "Fear kept me from marrying Christine." She was upfront about wanting to have kids with him, but he believed he couldn't be an "effective father" at the time.

They reunited shortly after he reconciled his fears. They tied the knot on their property in Aspen, Colorado in 2004.
A few years later, they welcomed their first child Caden Wyatt in Los Angeles in 2007, followed by another son Logan Hayes in 2009, and daughter Grace Avery in 2010.
Becoming a father again in his 50s, the actor still held concerns about raising his younger kids. He hoped that he would still have the energy to raise them as he had for his older children.
