- Mr. T., a.k.a. B.A. Baracus from "The A-Team" lost his iconic hair after he'd "been to radiation."
- Despite his intimidating look in the past, the actor is a doting father of three and a devoted Christian.
- Mr. T. opened up about his faith and how it motivated him to help less fortunate people and children.
American actor and wrestler Mr. T. has been a firm favorite in Hollywood since the 1990s. He made a name for himself as a wrestler and then dabbled in acting for a while after his wrestling career.
He has a tough guy appearance and has remained the tough guy in all his roles in the various productions he's been in over the years. However, at home is a loving father devoted to his religion.

70-year-old Mr. T. recently took to Instagram to share a photo of himself wearing the American Flag as a bandana to cover his bald head. He mentioned he was excited that the Olympics was returning because he enjoyed watching the curling team defend their title.
While fans enjoyed the post, they weren't talking about the Olympics. Instead, they spoke of Mr. T.'s appearance. One fan said he looked "excellent," and another said he still looked strong, and they still watched his famed movie "The A-Team."
Mr. T. still looks like his old self but has not always been strong. Mr. T. was first diagnosed with cancer in 1995 when he was 43. By age 49, in 2001, he finally went into remission.

The actor remained devoted to his faith during his struggle with cancer and raising his three children; Lesa, Erica, and Lawrence. His children and his ancestors are the reasons he chose the name he did.
Mr. T. said that when he was growing up, his father, uncle, and brother were called "boy." He wanted to know what he could do as a black man to garner respect. That's when he chose the name, Mr. T.
This was the first word someone uttered when they addressed him, a sign of respect that his mother, father, uncle, and brother never received from anybody else as he grew up.

When talking about everything that he has been through in the past couple of years, Mr. T. shared:
"Mr. T. has been to chemo, Mr. T has been to radiation, hair falls out ... but he's back. Now I can give hope when I go to the hospital, see the sick kids with cancer, tell them, don't quit. ... I serve God."
He mentioned that he answers only to God, saying that no matter how much wealth he has accumulated over the years, he has never forgotten his faith and always trusts God to provide for him.
What Kind of Father is Mr. T.?
Although Mr. T. had an incredibly chaotic and successful Hollywood career, he was also a doting father who carried out typical fatherly duties, like dropping his children off at school in the mornings.

Mr. T.'s children felt their childhood was normal, but it was hardly that for anyone who knew the family. His daughter acknowledged that in between his filming "Rocky III," he still worked as a bouncer before he became irrevocably famous. Talking about her upbringing, Mr. T.'s daughter, Erica Clarke, once said:
"I always thought it was funny. My dad had on gold chains, and everyone else's dad had on a suit. Of course, I know it wasn't normal."
Mr. T.'s children faced many other unusual situations as they grew up. One was when their father's friend, Hulk Hogan, crashed through their dining room table on Thanksgiving while under the influence. The children quickly learned to joke about the more unsavory things they witnessed.

Because of his position in Hollywood, Mr. T. hoped his children would not enter Hollywood. However, Clarke could not resist the call of the stage and said while her dad was shy off camera, she always wanted to be the center of attention and be famous.
Clarke is now a comedian and admits that her father's name has her foot in many doors. However, she recognizes that she must be funny, even if people book her to see what she'll discuss on stage.

Mr. T.'s son and eldest daughter have remained outside of Hollywood. Not much is known about these children, but Mr. T. has remained a doting father to each child throughout the years, no matter what.
Why Did Mr. T. Declare Bankruptcy, and Why Does He Help People?
Although Mr. T. had a successful career, he made some questionable business decisions to the detriment of himself, his common-law wife, and his daughter. The first mistake was not accepting a cameo role in "The A-Team Movie."

The role would have paid half a million dollars for only a few minutes and would have resulted in a small part for Clarke, too. However, Mr. T. turned it down with little reason why.
He also made an enemy of Sylvester Stallone when he said that his appearance in "Rocky III" had helped Stallone's career. When Stallone offered him a role in "The Expendables," Mr. T. said he had no interest in working with "has-beens."
He also did not pay off his business associates until they sued his common-law wife for the money he owed them because, by that time, Mr. T. had declared bankruptcy for himself and put all his possessions in his partner's name to conceal his wealth.

However, he soon learned that being a good Christian meant helping people and being honest. He then began helping people wherever possible, especially after his cancer diagnosis.
Mr. T. was diagnosed with T-cell lymphoma, and when he talked about how he felt after his diagnosis, he said:
"My faith was tested like Job. That's the message I try to tell other people, just because you believe in God, serve God, feed the hungry, clothe the naked, people gotta realize, it doesn't mean things are not going to happen to you. ... I believed in God when cancer comes to me."

After starring in "Dancing with the Stars" during season 24 of the famed TV show, he donated all the money he made to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital and Shriner's Hospital for Children.
Now, Mr. T encourages his fans to donate money to those in need, feed those who can't provide for themselves, and says: "I take food down to the homeless. I don't call up the press and say, look at me! My mother told me, Son, if nobody else knows, God knows. I do it for His glory."

Mr. T. acknowledges that he will defend himself if it ever comes down to that, but he doesn't send out bad vibes and instead sends out positivity and good vibes throughout his life. A remarkable story indeed.
