Dolly Parton Flaunts Slender Legs at 77 in Skimpy Snake-Print Dress Promoting Her New Single
Dolly Parton geared up for a big comeback with a teaser photo for her new single, "World on Fire." Still active at 77, the country singer said she didn't feel old at all.
The country music legend just transformed into a rock star! Seated on a burning globe, Parton donned a dark snake-print metallic dress with fishnet sleeves as she announced her new single, "World on Fire," to be released on Thursday.
Earlier in the day, the "Here You Come Again" singer unveiled that her new album will hit the charts on November 17, accompanied by another teaser photo. In it, she sported a studded golden dress while sitting in a car with a leopard-print steering wheel.
The long-awaited record will feature a star-studded ensemble. But despite releasing new music, the septuagenarian will not tour again. Her longtime husband, Carl Thomas Dean, played a significant role in her reasoning. She said:
"I like to stay a little closer to home with my husband. We're getting older now, and I don't want to be gone for four or five weeks at a time. Something could happen. I would not feel right about that if I were gone and somebody needed me."
But the "Jolene" crooner, who grew up with 11 siblings in a cabin, assured her fans that performing on weekend shows and festivals would still be in her schedule from time to time.

Although this would be the first time Parton recorded a rock album, she received a nomination for the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame last year. She pulled herself out of the nominations with a personal statement saying she didn't feel she "earned the right."
Six weeks later, she ultimately agreed and became one of the six inductees of the 2022 class. Upon receiving the honor, she said:
"I'm sure a lot of you knew that back when they said they were gonna put me in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, I didn't feel like I had done enough to deserve that. And I didn't understand at the time that it was about more than that. But I'm just so honored and so proud to be here tonight."

Dolly Parton turned 77 in January and she considers aging a measurement of her life experiences and accomplishments. The philanthropist also felt like she needed to work while the sun shone.
Not dwelling on the numbers, Parton noted she didn't feel old and would continue to live like she was 35.
