Ashley Judd can be seen in a light, flowy dress featuring a semi-sheer upper layer adorned with pastel flowers in green, yellow, red, and blue. The Badgley Mischka gown elegantly exposes the actress's aristocratic neck with a plunging V-shaped décolleté and back cut. She accessorized the outfit with a cross necklace and a gleaming ring by Fred Leighton.

Naomi Judd's daughter shares that she spent a beautiful night filled with tears and laughter at the 2023 Lifesavers Gala, during which she received the Lifesaver Award. She was supported that evening by Bono, David Kessler, and her partner.

Although the actress accepted the Award with profound honor, she admits that she did so after navigating through a year filled with grief and love. Her mother, singer Naomi Judd, tragically took her own life.

Days after the GALA, Ashley also delivered a speech to the National Press Club in which she underscored the need for responsible and respectful reporting on suicides. The actress also discussed her traumatic experience of how the media covered her mother's death.

Naomi Judd died by suicide at the age of 76. "We are navigating profound grief and know that as we loved her, she was loved by her public," Ashley and her sister Wynonna Judd wrote in a mourning message.

Ashley later detailed the traumatic experience of discovering her mother in an emotional essay. The actress writes about how she had to object to the way her mother's death was highlighted at the time.

Even Naomi Judd's husband, Larry Strickland, requested privacy in his statement on her passing and said that no additional information on the matter would be released soon.

Ashley herself has grappled with mental health issues. "I was in so much pain," the actress confessed in one of her interviews. However, she didn't initially seek treatment because her struggles were not physical, but emotional, such as depression and codependency in relationships. Later, she sought help at a mental health facility.
