Jacob is a child actor who made his film debut as Blue in the live-action animated movie "The Smurfs 2" in 2013. Before that, he had starred as Riley Stanwyck in an episode of "Motive."

However, the Canadian native's breakout role was that of Jack in the 2015 drama film "Room," wherein he received critical acclaim. He was chosen out of roughly 2,000 child actors for the role.

Jacob Tremblay, who has been described as "special" by "The Jurassic World" director Colin Trevorrow, was born on October 5, 2006, in Vancouver, Canada, to parents Jason and Christina Tremblay. He also has two sisters who are also in show business.

Initially, his parents were not too keen to have their children join the entertainment industry, but that changed in 2012. The couple permitted their eldest daughter Emma Tremblay to attend an open casting call for the sci-fi movie "Elysium." She landed the role, garnering more attention from casting agents.

The Tremblay Siblings' Parents Are Not Connected to Show Business

Jason and Christina are the only family members within their household who are not connected to show business. The family patriarch is a police detective, while the matriarch is a stay-at-home mom.

Although they are not Hollywood stars, the pair have accompanied their Screen Actors Guild Award-nominated son to public events. In February 2016, Jason and Christina stepped out for the Oscars red carpet with their famous son Jacob and the trio was interviewed by Entertainment Tonight reporters.

They mentioned Jason had made headlines as he went viral on the internet, with people creating the #HotDad about him. The law enforcement officer was asked how he felt about the trend, and he said:

"[...] I was sitting in the Golden Globes, and my phone started going crazy, and I checked it on commercial break, and it was family, friends, and a lot of co-workers from work giving me a hard time, but it's fun."

"It's not a bad thing to be called," Jason echoed the same sentiments one of the reporters stated. Meanwhile, his wife chimed in, saying:

"I wasn't surprised. I mean, it's why I married him."

In addition, Jason was asked what it was like watching his only son give a stellar performance and being lauded for his terrific work during the award season in Hollywood.

He answered, "You know, it's surreal when we were taping it, we were watching it. We were obviously there, as parents, we were like, 'This is really good,' but then we had to sit back and think, 'Is it just because we have our parent goggles on and everything our son does is great?' So, it's great to see all of this and know that everyone else kind of agrees with us that he did a great job."

The father of three stated he and his beloved spouse are "more than proud" of their now-sixteen-year-old son. The doting mom said, "We're always proud of him, but now it's just so happy for all these opportunities, and to see him enjoying all this is just...there isn't words. I can't talk about it; I'll cry."

Christina has helped Jacob "practice" his lines at home, and he has praised her for her assistance, saying, "She knows how my brain works." When the youngster first bagged his movie role, several film directors reportedly fought over him as he was deemed one of the newest talents to look out for.

They had simultaneous shoots lined up for the young promising star, and one of the directors, Jordan Roberts, who directed the adventure film, "Burn Your Maps," lauded Jacob for his excellent performance in the movie:

"He's got serious, serious talent. Lots of kids can cry on command. But Jake takes you in and out of his emotions seamlessly."

Jacob played a nine-year-old boy named Wes in the 2016 film, "Burn Your Maps," alongside actresses Vera Farmiga, Virgina Madsen, and actor Ramon Rodriguez.

Apart from his on-screen co-stars, the "Lion King" star has rubbed shoulders with the who's who of Hollywood, including English actress Kate Winslet.

The three-time Saturn Awards nominee met Hollywood's leading lady at the Moet British Independent Film Awards in 2015 and described her as "the girl from 'Titanic'" when asked if he had fun at the event.

When asked what he thought about the ceremony, Jacob said, "They talked about a bunch of movies that I had never heard of. I didn't stay for the whole thing. It was nighttime, and I couldn't stay awake any longer."

The Critics' Choice Movie Award nominee also met actor Will Smith at the Governors Awards that same year and the A-lister gave him a high-five while fellow actor Johnny Depp helped him straighten his bowtie.
