Arnold Schwarzenegger Loves His 'Wonderful' Girlfriend & Still Calls Ex Maria Shriver His 'Wife'

Arnold Schwarzenegger recently opened up about his girlfriend, Heather Milligan. They have been together for years, and although he touched on his love for her, the actor admitted he still loves his ex, Maria Shriver.

In an interview, the "Terminator" star described his girlfriend of almost a decade as "wonderful." While the actor usually stayed mum about his recent love life, he sang the physical therapist's praises. "I'm really proud of her, and I love her," he gushed.

Arnold Schwarzenegger also professed love for his ex, who he still calls his wife, and added, "I love my wife. She and I are really good friends and very close, and we are very proud of the way we raised our kids."

Schwarzenegger and Shriver remained amicable following their split, as he said they spent holidays like Christmas, Easter, and Mother's Day together. The pair share four children, and he also praised their co-parenting skills, saying if there's an Oscar for that, they would surely win it.

However, the "Expendables" star admitted he didn't miss being married. And though the divorce process had been complicated, he eventually moved on.

Along with her degree in Physical Therapy, Milligan earned her Master's in Business Administration at the University of Nevada Las Vegas. According to her website bio, she has over 20 years of experience in the field.

With her MBA, Miligan founded her own company, Elite Ortho Sports, which offers "physical therapy and delivers a level of care sought after by the best" in sports and orthopedics.

Milligan participated in competitive gymnastics for two decades. She also has experience working with professional athletes in boxing, MMA, NFL, NBA, MLB, tennis, figure skating, volleyball, soccer, track, and gymnastics.

Schwarzenegger and Milligan fueled dating rumors in 2013 when paparazzi captured them kissing in Santa Monica after a date night dinner at Fig in the Fairmont Hotel.

While keeping their romance on the down low, they were spotted on a cycling trip, also around Santa Monica, with a bodyguard on their heels in 2015. They also enjoyed a sweet ice cream date in 2017.

The bodybuilder had been legally married to Maria Shriver until finalizing their divorce in 2021, a decade after the initial filing. The court awarded his ex-wife half of his retirement money as part of the settlement.
