Beyoncé and Jay-Z expanded their property portfolio with a purchase in California. Despite the home, the couple is reportedly not letting go of their other multi-million dollar mansion.

Beyoncé and Jay-Z reportedly bought an architectural marvel in Malibu, designed by none other than Japanese mastermind Tadao Ando, the same architect currently crafting Kanye West's oceanfront haven.

The sizable purchase has rocketed the property into the history books as the second most expensive home ever sold in the United States, coming in just behind Ken Griffin's $238 million New York City investment in 2019.

The sprawling 30,000-square-foot Malibu mansion spans 8 acres of prime real estate, with the previous owner being William Bell Jr., a formidable player in the global art scene.

The construction of the imposing concrete structure, a signature of Ando's work, took Bell nearly 15 years to complete.

Perched atop the cliffs of Malibu, the abode will reportedly serve as a weekend getaway for the time being. Meanwhile, their $88 million Bel-Air mansion remains the family's primary residence since it's close to school and friends of their kids, Blue Ivy, Rumi, and Sir.

However, sources said that Jay-Z envisions relocating his family to the Malibu estate full-time, although plans to potentially sell the Bel-Air property still need to be confirmed.

Initially listed for a cool $295 million, the property seems a bargain by comparison. Mega-celebrity broker Kurt Rappaport, who represented both parties in the deal, handled the transaction.

Shortly after news of their costly purchase broke, the couple was spotted during their date night in London. The occasion marked the kickoff of the European leg of Beyoncé's "Renaissance World Tour."

The "Lemonade" artist served up a captivating look in a dazzling black off-the-shoulder mini-dress.

The show-stopping Balmain design featured an array of round rhinestones set on thermoformed black velvet fabric, complete with built-in gloves and a long sash trailing to the floor.

Beyoncé chose a matching sparkling handbag and sky-high platform heels to complete her look.

Prior to their romantic night out, the "Single Ladies" singer surprised fans with a remix of her track "America Has A Problem," a collaboration featuring Kendrick Lamar.
