Sarah's past Criticism of Her Looks and How Matthew Supported Her against It
Parker has had her fair share of criticism, albeit some of it was plain mean. Like in 2008, a magazine allegedly did a poll where its readers labeled the actress as the "unsexiest woman alive," it also compared her looks to that of a "racehorse."

Four years later, a Twitter user meanly revealed that if she could name her racehorse anything, it would be "Sarah Jessica Parker" before hashtagging her post "#myRacehorseName." Another social media user wrote:
"Sarah Jessica Parker is a terrible actress. Good racehorse, though."
Mimicking the first person, a third Twitter user also noted that he'd name it after the actress if he had a racehorse. In 2017, a Twitter troll described Parker as "ugly" before saying they loved her as Carrie Bradshaw in "Sex and The City," but her "face be killing me."
In response, the star said the poll was "brutal" and that her husband was upset because it challenged his judgment. Broderick felt it was "condemnation" and "insane," while his wife acknowledged that her appearance didn't always fit the ideals and standards of the men writing magazines.
The star noted that she didn't have big breasts, lips, or Botox, but her husband thought she was a catch long before he knew her. That meant a poll didn't change Broderick's opinion about his wife.

In a magazine interview, Parker's husband reminisced about seeing his future wife in "L.A. Story." He recalled thinking how "wonderful, hilarious, and beautiful" the actress was, and she remained that way in his eyes, and it led them to marriage.

In November 1991, Broderick met his future wife through her two brothers, the founders of New York City's Naked Angels Theater Company. The "Ferris Bueller's Day Off" had directed a play at the theater and was introduced to Parker there.
Broderick later confessed to asking her out via voicemail. The actress recalled him leaving a charming and modest message on her answering machine on February 1, 1992, where he called out his full name, including his last name.
Four years later, the actress starred alongside her boyfriend for the first time on Broadway in "How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying." Before the show made its debut, she described her co-star as the funniest man she'd ever met while giving an interview.
The celebrity said he was bright and the most handsome man she'd ever seen. She shared how he inspired her and that she was "totally" "mad for him," and on May 19, 1997, the couple tied the knot at New York City's Angel Orensanz Synagogue.
The pair invited around 100 friends and family, pretending they were having a party before Parker shared her wedding vows dressed in a black gown. In April 2022, the actor appeared on "Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen," where he answered questions about his love life.

In 2011, Parker shared how helpful her husband was at home as he did shopping for her and cooked for their family. The actress noted that he had things he did better than her, and they balanced things out and cared for one another, so none of them felt like they were taken advantage of.
Years before that, the star described her husband as complicated and that they had some tough times in their marriage. After being together for 20 years, they'd experienced decent, good, and bad days, like any other marriage, friendship, or relationship.
However, she [Sarah Jessica Parker] confessed they went many days without needing the 20-minute reprieve.

However, she encouraged keeping a check on all parts of the relationship. In 2008, the couple's marriage came under fire when Broderick was accused of having an affair with a youth worker from November 2007 until February 2008 while his wife was off on a shoot.
The actor and the 25-year-old woman allegedly met in a Manhattan bar in 2007, and he was later seen carrying flowers and wine to her apartment. The star reportedly informed the woman that his marriage was "not good," but he did not comment on the matter through his spokesperson.

The couple managed to survive the rumor, with Parker confessing, "I'm sure I annoy him, and he annoys me," when discussing their relationship. However, she acknowledged that she learned more about him daily.
Showing how normal they were as a couple, in 2011, the actress jokingly admitted to allowing herself "20 minutes a day" to "loathe" or "hate" her husband! She explained that she thought it was a healthy thing to do and realistic.
However, she confessed they went many days without needing the 20-minute reprieve. After being in a relationship for over three decades, Parker and Broderick's methods seemed to help them not hide their emotions, and they worked to save their bond.
