Bailey Bass’ Parents & Ethnicity – She Has an Adoptive Father
Born into a multicultural family, Bailey Bass's parents contributed unique ethnicities to her diverse heritage. Her mother is from Belarus, but Bass also has black roots. With such a multifaceted heritage, the actress had the opportunity to embrace and appreciate different cultures.
Bailey Bass, a rising star in Hollywood, garnered the attention of movie and television watchers for her incredible on-screen performances. One intriguing aspect of her lies in her familial background and ethnicity.
The actress does not shy away from talking about her mother and Belarusian ancestry. However, she doesn't mention much about her biological father. Instead, she credits her adoptive father for raising her well.
Bailey Bass' Parents Had Separated by the Time She Was Two
Born in Nashville, Tennessee, Bass moved to New York at two years old with her mother and brother. Given that she did not mention her dad, very little is known of him, especially where he was before and after their move.
Despite being without a biological father, Bass had a robust support system and received guidance from those around her, including her mom, acting coach, agent, and publicist. She said:
"I have been blessed with a team of strong women. They always tell me to consistently be myself all the time."

Bailey Bass' Mother Immersed Her in the Belarusian Culture
Growing up, Bass' mother raised her in a predominantly Russian neighborhood. Because of this, the actress' knowledge of her Belarusian culture widened, alongside the Russian and Kazakh cultures. She was also fortunate enough to learn Russian as a first language, speaking it growing up.
Bass credits her mother for raising her to be the person she is today — a dedicated, persevering, and hard-working woman. The actress's mother was once a skilled tennis player. Her athleticism paid for scholarships and brought her from Belarus to the US.
Because of Bass' mom, she has become competitive in reaching her dreams and did not give up, even if she was the only girl in the "Avatar" audition, where she landed the role. Although Bass doesn't share many personal details about her mom, she once revealed her mom sells Rodan and Fields products.
Bass has also praised her mother on Instagram, thanking her for being an amazing mother and best friend.
She also claimed she bonded with her mom and brothers by watching reality television, including "The Challenge" and "Real Housewives of Beverly Hills." The actress became more immersed in the entertainment industry thanks to her interest in watching on-screen productions.
Bailey Bass' Father Is of Black Ancestry
While her mother is Eastern European, Bass' father is black. Thanks to Bailey Bass' parents, she grew up biracial and had it in her to connect with her father's heritage. Her interest in her black heritage deepened when she landed the role of Claudia in "Interview with the Vampire."
Bass also has an adoptive father, Dave Marken, whom she praised in an Instagram post. Marken is an Emmy Award-winning producer known for his work in "Rocking for Relief," "Catskill Park," "Dr. Pete's Office," and "Project 7."
According to the young talent, Marken allowed her to realize that family is not always composed of people you are related with, but instead, people you choose.
"I'm so grateful that I have a helicopter parent to be loud at concerts, dysfunctionally cook, laugh a lot, and dine and dash with," she added.
Bass has also praised her mother on Instagram, thanking her for being an amazing mother and best friend. She also credits her mother for molding her into who she is today.
Bailey Bass is famously known for her lead role in "Avatar: The Way of the Water." This year, she made her first-ever Oscars appearance and looked stunning in an outfit made in less than two weeks.
