After appearing in the "Harry Potter" movies, English actor Harry Melling rose to prominence. Although the franchise turned him into a household name, the actor does not like the celebrity status.

Harry Melling is an actor who became famous as a child star when he starred as Dudley Dursley in the "Harry Potter" movie franchise. In a January 2023 interview, he revealed that he was merely going through the motions when he began filming for the franchise at just ten years old.

The actor played Potter's cousin in the films, who constantly harassed him. At 18, the movie star enrolled at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art (LAMDA). After the franchise ended, he focused more on his craft, and while attending LAMDA, he wrote plays and studied theatre.

Following his stints on several BBC shows, such as "The Musketeers" and "Garrrow's Law," Melling made quite an impression on casting directors. In 2020, he starred in the action film "The Old Guard," alongside Charlize Theron and starred in the historical drama series "The Queen's Gambit."

In a January 2023 interview, Melling was asked whether he felt like he was gradually stepping out of the shadow of his "Harry Potter" character, which is what he is most well-known for. He replied:

"I think so, but I’m always amazed at the generational power of ‘Harry Potter.’ My friends have kids now who are [into the books], and they’re like, ‘Uncle Harry’s Dudley! […] It does feel like that narrative’s changing, though, which is great."

Harry Melling is a private person who does not discuss details of his personal life with reporters. He does not even have an Instagram account. Despite this, "The Lost City of Z" star was once spotted holding hands with actress Patsy Ferran at a public event.

The pair attended The National Theatre's "Up Next" fundraising gala at the National Theatre on March 22, 2022, in London, England. While at the outing, they posed together, smiling and holding hands.

This sparked dating rumors in some media outlets. It remains unclear whether Melling and Ferran are an item because they never confirmed or denied it. Like Melling, Ferran is also reserved about her personal life.

Ferran was born to Spanish parents in Valencia, Spain, on November 25, 1989, and her family relocated to England when she was a child. She studied in Surrey and continued at Birmingham University, where she studied Drama and Theatre Arts. She also trained at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts and graduated in 2014.

The brunette is a Spanish-British award-winning actress. She is best known for her stints in "Darkest Hour" (2017), "God's Own Country" (2017), and "Tom & Jerry" (2021).

Ferran also has had roles in theatre, including performances in "Duke of York's Theatre" and "Summer and Smoke." In April 2023, the "Jamestown" alum was named best actress at the Critics' Circle theatre awards. She also has several awards, including a Laurence Olivier Award.
