Glenda Jackson's Husband: The Late Starlet Only Married Once

Chris Bryant, who authored her biography, wrote that their relationship broke down due to Roy feeling emasculated by his wife's success. He allegedly stated that if she won a second Oscar, that would be the end of their marriage.

Amid Roy's jealousy, Glenda had an affair with Andy Philips, a lighting engineer, and when she filed for divorce, her ex-husband sued her because of the romance. The former politician continued dating Andy on and off until they split for good in 1981. Her ex-husband, whom she still saw occasionally, died in June 2017.

Dan is also a married man and a father. His wife is unknown, but he has a son named Jack, and they lived together with Glenda in London before her death. When asked what kind of grandmother she was to Jack, Glenda said she was "highly critical of everything."

The youngster seemingly followed in his grandmother's footsteps. He participated in school plays that she often attended, as Glenda revealed, "Oh, yes. They do very interesting stuff, actually, which they write themselves."

Glenda Jackson Didn't Care Much for the Glitz and Glam of Showbusiness

Glenda had to deal with much sexism as one of the few women with prominent positions in the political sector; however, she noted that it was just as bad in her acting career, especially in theater.

Yet, despite being counted among the greatest actors of her generation, like Cary Grant, Marilyn Monroe, Betty White, Clint Eastwood, and Meryl Streep, she cared little about the "glitzy, glamorous, showbizzy part of the entertainment world."

"I wouldn't have been any good at it," she once remarked. To Glenda, acting was a job she looked back on with "neither affection nor disaffection." As for her love life, after her romance with Andy, the late star remained single until her death.
