The end of a multinational 5-day search for the lost Titan submersible has reached a grim and unfortunate conclusion. As of Thursday, it was revealed and confirmed by the U.S. Coast Guard that debris from the vessel that voyaged to the century-old wreck of the Titanic was found after what is assumed to be a catastrophic implosion, rendering all five passengers dead.

The debris field was located by a robotic diving vehicle sent to attempt to locate and pull Titan back to the ocean's surface. The debris was found approximately 1,600 feet away from the bow of the Titanic wreck. A total of five essential fragments of the submersible were discovered amongst the debris, inclusive of two sections of the pressure hull and the vessel's tail cone.

French Oceanographer Paul-Henri Nargeolet's Devastated Daughter Shares the Communication with Her Father before the Catastrophe

Before the tragic news broke to every major news outlet, many people held onto the hope that rescue efforts would prove to be successful. Of those people comes Nargeolet's daughter, Sidonie Nargeolet. During the non-stop and frantic search for Titan, despite the window of the chance of survivability closing as each hour and day passed, she continued to believe that her father and the rest of the passengers would come to be saved.

Her father was among one of the people part of the first group ever to make the first expedition to the Titanic wreck in 1987. Nargeolet visited the site over 35 times before venturing off for the last time with Titan, which is what led Sidonie to believe that her father would be at ease on the vessel:

"He is very passionate about the Titanic since they found it 30 years ago, and I know now he is at the place he would like to be."

Nargeolet has been described as a leading expert when it comes to the historic ship. Although, while his daughter remained hopeful and continued to put her faith in the efforts being made by the rescue teams, she disclosed having broken down and cried since being told the news of the vessel going missing on Monday. Sidonie also revealed the last communication she had with her dad before he went off the grid and never got a chance to respond to her last text:

"He sent me a message a week before telling me the weather was bad, so they hadn't been able to go down, but that there was a great atmosphere. I sent him a message on Sunday for Father's Day, but he didn't reply."

Experts have put forth the possibility that the Titan submersible may have even imploded mere hours into the crew's descent on Sunday, as data from the debris that has been analyzed suggests the timeline of the catastrophe. Despite experiencing mixed emotions and insurmountable stress, Sidonie always returned to being hopeful.

The daughter of Mr. Titanic (a nickname Nargeolet earned after his plethora of successful expeditions to the famous wreckage) believed that her father could successfully navigate a crisis. She also added that he would be able to assist with keeping everyone onboard calm.

Like countless others, Sidonie had hoped for the Titan submersible's safe return but now has to face the sad, shocking, and devastating reality.

Sidonie was extremely confident in her father's ability to help lead the crew to safety. She confidently stated:

"He knows how to handle a crisis situation. He is prepared for it, [and], here, I think that with the other people, he would have explained to them, therefore, to breathe gently so that [they] use less oxygen. And he knows how to reassure them; that's very important."

Condolences continue to be sent to the bereaved family and friends, who are going through a great deal of pain and devastation as reality sinks in that they will never be able to see their loved ones again. Like countless others, Sidonie had hoped for the Titan submersible's safe return but now has to face the sad, shocking, and devastating reality.
