Following his rise to fame for this talent in front of the camera, David Corenswet has faced speculation about whether or not he is gay. However, the actor has kept pursed lips about his dating life and sexuality.

David Corenswet made a name for himself on the Hollywood acting scene following his roles in the hit Netflix series. However, his life off camera also caught the attention of fans, as many of them wondered whether or not he was gay.

Despite their piqued interest, David Corenswet has yet to set the record straight about his sexuality. The actor has also not left clues about whether he has a girlfriend. At the time of writing, his social media was dedicated to his work and his other love: dogs.

David Corenswet Has Played Multiple Gay Roles in the Past, Leading To Speculation about His Sexuality Offscreen

Corenswet's acting career began long before being cast to play River in "The Politician," co-starring Ben Platt, Gwyneth Paltrow, and Zoey Deutch. His character is a rich, famous, straight-A student with the prettiest girlfriend and seemingly perfect life. However, he has a secret: he's gay. The actor said:

"My character is not perfect, but he's sort of like a conscience. [...] In the first episode, you find out he is the only one who is really honest about his emotions..."

The following year, Corenswet landed the role of Jack Castello in "Hollywood," where he plays a reportedly gay sex worker trying to make it as an actor. "My character has a certain optimism, a lack of jadedness... At least at the beginning of the series," he said.

David Corenswet's Fans on Social Media Said He Looks Gay

Following his breakout roles, Corenswet's fans wondered if he was gay in real life too. And after it was recently announced that he and Rachel Brosnahan would replace Henry Cavill and Amy Adams as Clark Kent and Lois Lane in "Superman: Legacy," his fans said he looked gay.

"i love david corenswet superman bc he looks gay enough for me. i think henry cavill looks too straight but christopher reevea nd tom welling are both slightly gay looking enough for my personal tastes (sic)," one person tweeted.

Another shared of Corenswet and Cavill, "They look a like but David Corenswet just like the gay version of cavil. (sic)." However, a third fan was unconvinced about the speculation of the actor's sexuality, as they wrote, "David Corenswet isn't gay ... he plays a gay character on a show but he himself isn't gay (sic)."

While David Corenswet Keeps His Love Life Private, He Often Shares Glimpses of the Other Love in His Life on Social Media

Corenswet has not been romantically linked to anyone and is yet to put any rumors about his dating life or whether he's gay to rest. However, the actor isn't shy about documenting his love of dogs on Instagram.

In 2019, he posted an adorable picture of himself brushing noses with a brown dog before sharing a photo of himself smiling as he cuddled another furry pet after they had gone for a swim.

"I caught this fish with my own two hands, and I'm keeping him," Corenswet captioned the post. In 2021, he and his furry friend were back posing for the camera, although they were surrounded by snow this time.
